We used them for our wedding in August 2010, and were blown away. The price was extremely reasonable, particularly for the food. Don’t let the low prices fool you — this food is GOOD! We had several self-professed foodies who were raving about the amazing grilled vegetables. The setting was gorgeous, the park so beautiful that we didn’t need to buy flowers(the surrounding park is groomed by the city). The coordinator was extremely helpful, and I felt like every member of staff was doing everything they could to make our wedding stress-free and memorable. We found out later that they even went so far as to have staff members in the park to steer away would-be gawkers and keep our function private. We were super grateful to hear this, because we didn’t see any of it! From our viewpoint, everything was seamless and perfect. There are two things to be aware of: one, we were pushing the venue’s seating capacity(with ~100 guests — we didn’t expect such a high response rate!), so we had one table partly obscured by a cement pillar during the reception. The staff made sure to warn us about this when we viewed the venue for the first time, so this wasn’t a surprise or anything. As well, because it was a hot day, the venue got extremely warm by the end of the night. Most people migrated to the beautiful patio outside the venue and chatted there instead. Some perks that aren’t readily obvious from the website: –free parking if it’s on a weekend(with a big parking lot right outside the venue) –seclusion — the venue is set down a level from the court house and overlooks the cement ponds/fountains –seriously, the grounds are beautiful! They’re tended year-round, and there is a path around the back of the pond that the bride can walk down. All guests’ eyes were on me as I «emerged from the woods» and circled around the water to meet my groom. That was a pretty magical moment! –some decorations and linens may be available, and the coordinator can help arrange for others. She got us chair covers at a great deal. –the venue REALLY flips over nicely from its daytime cafeteria form. We came during the day at first, and were invited back to check it out on the Saturday to see it flipped over — wow! Amazing difference. –there’s a dance floor, and a back room where the bride can get ready/hide in the morning(which can also double as a backup venue if it rains) –did I mention that the food was delicious? So, yes, highly recommended for groups of ~40−80 people(100 was pushing it a bit). If it’s going to be a hot one, you might want to rent some additional fans. You will be blown away by how reasonable the prices are and how helpful the staff are… and by the gorgeousness of the venue!
