If there’s curry this good to be found at a lower price anywhere please let me know. Quality varies a little, depending on the chef. Also, sometimes other things find their way into my mixed veggie if I order near closing time. So order before 7pm if you’re a vegetarian or risk getting a hodgepodge of whatever’s left potentially including some suspicious meaty chunks. Now that’s only happened twice in in the 20+ years I’ve been there, so it’s probably only one of the employees, but it’s enough to make me conscious about ordering earlier in the day since I am a relatively strict vegetarian. The price keeps increasing as more people find out about this place, but it’s still the cheapest around. I’ve been ordering from them about once per week since 1992 when samosas were 5 for a dollar. If I recall correctly it hasn’t changed much in that time. I even dedicated my masters thesis to them for providing the fuel to get through college. Also a great place to bring dates if you want to scare away potential gold diggers.

I ate here a few years ago when my co-worker ordered from here for our staff party. I was quite impressed, that even after a few years I recognized the restaurant immediately when I drove by. Today is a completely different story, that I felt compelled to write. I ordered the butter chicken and saag paneer. The latter had a runny consistency a milky yellow colour(not the tomatoey cream texture I’m accustomed too), and it tasted like a combination or cream and cumin and it was salty. Huge disappointment. The paneer was mediocre and to think about it, was kinda bland. I don’t know how people think its cheap here 2 dishes plus 4 naan bread @ $ 21.00 is at par with average pricing. Will never go back.

When Indian people eat at an Indian restaurant over, and over, and over again — it’s got to be good. This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but who cares? The food is authentic, super cheap and so, so good! I wouldn’t suggest eating in, as the restaurant has a pretty bad ambiance(it’s located in an industrial plaza lol), but definitely get a big bag of Indian goodness to go. Ps. Yeah butter chicken is always a safe bet, but give the chilli chicken or goat curry a try — you might find yourself having a new favourite =)

Unbelievable Indian take out place. For under $ 20.00 you can walk out of here with a big bag of food complete with rice and fabulous naan bread. Chana masala is just right with a nice hit of spice. Give it a try if you want good, cheap Indian food.

I used to eat here almost everyday. I love Indian food and this is a small family owned restaurant that serves the usual Indian fare of curries, pakoras, and sweets. The prices are super reasonable and the service is prompt. The cleanliness of the restaurant is a bit to be desired but forgivable. I usually order the goat curry, chili chicken, or some variation of the paneer. I always make sure there is lots of nann and rice. The portions are decent and you will always come out full and satisfied. All the dishes are super authentic and the consistency from visit to visit is alway good. If you are in the area and don’t already have a favorite place, give Mughal a try !
