Mahek Restaurant & Lounge

Great food and great ambience. They used to have an actualy auto in the front porch. :(they’re undergoing some renovations right now but their food is always top notch.

So we went to this location of Mehak for dinner around 8:30pm. They had some sort of birthday party going on but they seated us anyway. Well first of all it was way too dark to try to create an ambience. Next, our waitress was quite curt. They were out of Seekh Kebabs! And she rudely informed us without even a courteous smile. Then we waited for ~40 minutes for our appetizers and asked the waitress to check the status. She left and never returned. We tried to look for someone and let them know we are leaving. But no one even noticed or cared! Worst service in our opinion.

Tried Mahek for the first time today after the amazing smell of the restaurant called me in. Ordered take out of butter chicken, kadahi paneer dish and garlic naan. On the higher price scale but the quality of the butter chicken was very good. I asked for extra extra hot and for my personal tastes, it still could have been a little hotter but overall still an excellent dish. I wasn’t a fan of the garlic naan as they used garlic powder instead of fresh garlic.
Also, normally when I order Indian, even from the cheapest hole in the wall, they provide a little pack of fresh raw veggies. I did miss not having that to balance out the rich curry and for the price I paid for the three of us ($ 70) I think that should have been thrown in.

Have gone there 3 times, food is excellent, the service however is horrible each time we have gone. Complete amateur hour. Seems as though the workers may be all family with no proper training in service. We are always waiting for long periods of time, and find ourselves having to flag someone down just to order or get their attention. They also don’t take away dirty plates when ordering for more food, waitresses look down when talking to you, no smile, no eye contact. With the past experiences I will absolutely not come but but definitely will order take out. Again, the food is great, the servers are just on another planet!

I was an out of town guest picking it up as takeout, but the malai kofta and chaat I got was great, and the inside of the restaurant looked nice.

Food was very flavourful and served fresh from the kitchen. But I think they ‘chickened’ out a little on the spices figuring a ‘white guy’ couldn’t handle hotter food. I will definitely be back. They have a variety of goat dishes which I’ll need to try next time.

Last night we went to Mahek, a group of 8 and the food was fantastic! For appetizers we ordered veggie pakoras and chaats to share, and about 7 mains between us so we could have a sampler of more things. Their lamb vindaloo was cooked to perfection.
Each curry had a distinct flavor and was piping hot. Their veggie biryani was really good too. Great service, and awesome food. Highly recommended. Will definitely go again and again.

Great place to take someone out if they like Indian food.
It’s great for takeout as well. Orders are done quite quickly.
It’s a sign for sure when a place is that busy. Their lunch menu is great. Good portions.

Excellent Indian food, reasonably priced. Portions are also great, neither too much or too little.

Awesome food here. Butter chicken to die for and vindaloo that will burn your face off! DELICIOUS!!!

This is one of our favourite Indian restaurants! We first tried it over 5 years ago and still keep coming back! I can’t really recommend any specific dish as at this place no matter what you order, it will be exceptional, especially Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Chicken and Mango Shake or Mango Lassi. Everything tastes yummy here!
P. S. They also have another location on 120^th Street!

Had a friend stop by and we decided to go out and grab some Indian cuisine. Remembered seeing Mahek in the Panorama Mall (15 149 — Hwy 10 — Surrey) and headed that way.
The facility is clean and nicely appointed… Service was prompt and very friendly.
The food… started with a couple Samosa’s, then we ordered Butter Chicken (hey, I am a white guy… it’s what I know… give me a break… LOL). OUT OF THIS WORLD! I will be back just for that!
We also had Chana Masala with Paneer… I had never had Paneer before… it is very good! The Chana Masala was also fabulous! My friend ordered it «medium» which was great… Regardless the beads of sweat on my forehead I could not stop eating it… it was that good! We had the garlic nan bread… do yourself a favour… get the garlic one!
Oh yah, I will be back to Mahek!

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Indian food. My sister and brother-​in-​law love it and after an outting in Surrey, they suggested this place.
I was pleasantly surprised, I had a Mahek Mini-​meal and it was great!
I ordered Butter Chicken which was yummy, the tandori chicken was maybe the best I ever had — fresh like just from the BBQ, and not tasting like it was sitting in a buffet. The veggie dish was a spicy eggplant and it was really nice. And the Naan — nothing like fresh naan!
Another nice thing is the soft drinks were free refill which is what I need when eating hot foods!
I’m definitely coming back to this place sometime!

One of my favourite Indian restaurants! I usually ask them to put paneer in their butter chicken sauce — tastes fantastic.

The food was fantastic… but cant say much about the service. We had three different people serving us and every time we asked a question, it was like i was talking an alien language… work on your service skills and you would have got a 5!
