Lotay Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Meh.
Average everything. Referred by my father-​in-​law who knew of him, but never used him — that should have been my clue right there.
They messed up our appointments (that we made months in advance) and forgot to tell us that our appointment was cancelled/​moved due to vacation or something (this was a year or so ago). Wasted 1 vacation day for myself and my husband and we had traveled all the way from Vancouver to White Rock before we found out this happened.
Re-​scheduled for a week or two later and the visit itself was meh. I know swelling and infections are a bit dicy after you get teeth removed and dependent on the patient, but I also think it tells you how good the surgeon is at the task at hand.
Some other annoying little things, but I won’t bore you.
Overall, reception is pretty friendly and nice, but that’s not going to cover the lackluster experience we had there. They were also very hard to reach after-​the-​fact, when we had questions about some unusual swelling. Poor hubby.
I encouraged my husband to go to the one my family and friends have been going to for the other side of his mouth and it was a completely different and POSITIVE experience and guess what — no unusual swelling, no need for painkillers and he was back eating solid food in a few days. If my husband had the same experience with the other oral surgeon, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review, but considering the other side was more complicated and he had a much quicker, better recovery and overall experience, I just had to write this.
I will add though, that there are a lot of referrals for Dr Lotay, so perhaps this was a one-​off. However, I personally would have loved to see these fantastic reviews on Unilocal or somewhere else on the internet.
