John Q Moving

Best movers I have ever had. Fast, friendly and reliable. I have used them twice now, and will most definitely use them again.

John and Jerry were awesome in helping us move. They were professional and this was the second time we have hired them. Both guys were friendly, cheerful and pleasant to chat to, which is important to me because I hate moving and these guys made the experience easy.

Lets just say his helper was super polite and a great worker. I would recommend him to anyone.
The owner on the other hand was rude, and just because I’m a woman asked me to go outside and watch the stuff in the truck (cause he told me he gave me the easy job)
He didn’t seem to realize what the big deal was with tipping my filing cabinet on its backside and lying it down, when all my legal papers are now bent and squished and I still cannot get the doors to the drawers open, and it now needs to be replaced as we had to break it to get into it. My bed now has damage also.
The owner told me to get out of the way and treated me like a weak little female when I basically did almost half the work myself.
I had to tell the owner simple directions 3 times like put that over there, and he would just ignore me and think he would do better until he realized it wouldn’t fit where he tried to put it.
I also said everything labelled fragile cannot be stacked, and had to state this almost 3 times. The helper I only had to say things to once and he got them right away with a huge smile on his face.
Plus the owner showed up at 9:15am when we had a 9am appointment. The owner kept telling me he’s a professional mover, and that they are great at what they do, big lie!
I HAVE LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES ABOUT THE DAMAGE HE DID AND SUPRISE SUPRISE HE WON’T EVEN CALL ME BACK, I GUESS WE WILL BE GOING TO COURT OVER THIS ONE TILL HE REPLACES MY BROKEN STUFF!
Well in response to his comment posted below,
1)my filing cabinet was already bent, not by my friend so called putting a box on it but for the entire 6 years that I have owned it and it still functioned perfectly. The doors had to be broken open becuase all the contents on the inside went everywhere when he tipped it over and the wire brackets inside got lodged in the doors and sides and jammed everything.
What kind of idiot tips a filing cabinet full of paperwork on its backside? And he had just finished telling me how they were professionals and they know exactly what they are doing compared to other companies.
HOW FAST A COMPANY STARTS TO POINT A FINGER LIKE A LITTLE BOY WHO GOT CAUGHT LYING AND WITH HIS PANTS DOWN!
2)Also the owner said to me he was trying to give me the easy job by asking me to watch the truck, while a male was standing next to me. If that isnt sexist I dont know what is, and considering I moved more heavy belongings then the owner himself in the move, and he asked us to help because there were stairs at the delivery location.
3)Also I moved a few of my things to the front entrance to get them out of the way, my place has very tight corners and they light to pack furniture on the truck first so if I didnt move them they would not be able to access my furniture.
THIS THERE LAME EXCUSE, SEEMED LIKE I WAS IN A HURRY, no its called being efficient idiot and knowing the logistics of the spaces you are working in.
SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE AND GO WITH A BETTER COMPANY!!!

I used John Q Moving when I moved to my new townhouse and they were fantastic. Every aspect of the move went smoothly.
They used a cover that protected my new carpet. They wrapped all our stuff, they even delivered and assembled the new furniture I bought from IKEA.
I would recommend planning your move in advance as I wanted to book the last day of the month but procrastinated with my planning, and by the time I called they were already busy that day, so we had to change our dates.
Anyway, I will definitely recommend them to all my friends.
