The cashiers are grumpy, unhelpful and rude. The selection is atrocious and the food quality poor. On top of that, the prices are far higher than other supermarkets in the area. It is cheaper and worth the effort to drive further afield to buy superior quality foods.

This review pertains to the Safeway at Ocean Park in South Surrey, near White Rock. The fact that their deli counter often has a line up at lunch is a testament to the good deals to be found here… or to the slow service. It’s actually a bit of both.
I’d avoid the fried chicken in the morning since it usually looks like it’s from the day before but other than that, their chicken and fries combo meal is a very good and tasty deal. With a pop (house brand) and a bag of chips, it costs around $ 6.
BTW the Safeway on Scott Rd near 63rd Ave features a decent rice and butter chicken at their deli counter.
