5 star Taryn is an absolute gem! She made me feel so very comfortable and sized me properly and fitted me with a new bra and prosthesis. I have ordered additional bras from her new catalog. This was by far the best experience I have had and a I am a 20 year survivor. Thank You Taryn.

Not a happy customer. I was told about Because We Care by a nurse at the hospital and decided to go there instead of Abbotsford which is much closer to me. When I called two weeks after my mastectomy to ask about the service, Taryn was very sweet over the phone. She convinced me to have a bra and puffies send out by mail, she said it was a good post op bra. I gave her my size but when it arrived it was way to big, I was hoping she would just take that one back and give me a refund but she wouldn’t she was going to order me a smaller size, I don’t like the style or the fit. At the fitting she did not have the prosthetics and gave me only one, I asked for a C cup size and I got one A cup and one B. I was promised the rest of the merchandise would be at my door in one week it never arrived. When I called she was away. Anyway it was about three weeks later that the bra and the other prosthetic arrived. The silicone prosthetics stick out of my bra, they are way to wide for my frame, I had that confirmed by another store who knows what they’re doing. I am very disappointed in the service and don’t feel that it’s about the customer but about selling the most expensive items. I need to have this mess fixed, I was told it can be fixed. I have to go all the way back to Cloverdale to see what she’s going to do for me since she did not seem very concerned. I am extremely disappointed, wasted all this time when Zammy’s could have made me happy. Taryn needs to learn to listen to her customer and to care because we go through enough with cancer, treatments and mastectomy we don’t need any more stress after all that. I went back to the store and was told that putting velcro or snaps on my bras would solve my problem! I was told that that’s the way they’re supposed to fit and it’s the bras that are cut a certain way that’s why they stick out… Gee I wonder why they make bras like that if the forms don’t fit in there properly… Annoyed to the limit!

Unfortunately my experience at Because We Care was very disappointing. Initially when I went in a few weeks after having my mastectomy, Taryn was very sweet & helpful. I ordered a set of prosthetics and a bra. She even offered to sew pockets into one of my existing bras for me! When I came back a week later to pick up my order, my bra was still not in. My own bra was also not ready. It all went down hill from there. When I made another trip back to pick it up, she had ordered the wrong size. It was too big so she promised to order the correct size(large C/D) and mail it to me along with my old bra once the pockets were in. At that time she gave me a Large A/B for the mean time and assured me the pockets were stretchy enough to accommodate my larger prosthetics. Unfortunately it didn’t work out. Approximately 5 weeks after placing my order, she called to ask which bra I had purchased and said she would send it out early the next week. She sent it to the wrong address & it was returned to her. After asking for my address again she resent it. Approximately 7 weeks after I placed the order, I finally received the package in the mail even though the address was again wrong. She did include an extra bra for the delay. Unfortunately, NEITHERBRAWASTHERIGHTSIZE! To top it all off, the cups sewn into my regular bra are too small to hold the prosthetics & when I put it on I stabbed my chest on a broken needle that was stuck in it. SO7 weeks &5 bras later I still didn’t have a bra that fit. When I informed her of the error & that I just wanted to return the bras for a refund, her only response was a curt«sure, I’m out of the country(for 2 weeks)». When my sister went to return the bras for me, Taryn tried to make the excuse that the bra was discontinued & that’s why the size was wrong. SOSAYTHAT, DONTKEEPSENDINGTHEWRONGSIZE! The wrong colour? Ok, you can make it work but not the wrong size! This whole experience has been horrible. «Because We Care» sure didn’t make me feel like they cared. In the midst of being diagnosed with breast cancer, recovering from a mastectomy & navigating results & treatment options, the last thing a woman should have to endure is a complete run around &7 weeks of uncomfortable attempts to make due with prosthetics in improper bras on tender healing scars. In the end she didn’t apologize but instead blamed me for her errors & made a lame excuse for what can only be described as a complete lack of care for me, her customer, & the extremely emotional/vulnerable experience I entrusted her to assist me with.
