By far the best Chinese restaurant we’ve been to in South Surrey. Ordered the meal for 6 and ended up taking two full bags of left overs home.(should feed us for the next two days) Wonton soup was pretty good too.

Best Chinese food around all of Vancouver, and greater Van. The sliced noodles are my favourite. But everything that you order is delicious. Only thing that I would change is how long their take out can take. That’s the only improvement I would say they need.

I think this place overall, makes the best Chinese food South Surrey has to offer. Not once yet disappointed!

I liked it so much that I ordered take out two days in a row. The ginger beef is my favorite. The broccoli beef was really good too. I am new to this area and have been searching for that Chinese restaurant that is decent and NOT food court Chinese food.

Great delivery Chinese food, best in South Surrey/White Rock area. Every dish was delicious, especially the Ginger Beef. Prices were reasonable.

Delicious and very tasty Chinese food. Their menu is long! We had hot & sour soup & chicken corn soup which was superb! Our main entrees were beef & broccoli and a lo me in dish with a side of a cold mushroom dish. All was very very good!

The restaurant is small but it looks like it will seat around 20 people. I had their lunch combo. It seems like a good deal, for $ 7.50 you get a main dish with either rice or noodle and a small soup. The food wasn’t super greasy like some of the other Chinese restaurants. I will be back!

This place has great food! I can’t describe this place with words. The service was kind, and I don’t know what else to say. All the waiters are super patient and nice.

Came into the restaurant greeted by a wonderful lady who sat us down. First let me say that the chairs they have there are AMAZINGLYCOMFORTABLE. I could sit there all day. It might’ve been the time we came(we came an hour and a half before closing) but food was surprisingly fast. The food all in all was great! Good portions and nice presentation. Service was great as well. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Family opted to try this place in view of the nice reviews on Unilocal. We were not disappointed! This is a small«mom & pop» style restaurant that does eat-in and carry-out. Emphasis on small, as seating is limited to ~25−30 persons. It was quite hot for July in Surrey, and dining area was not air-conditioned. Not a problem for us, but just a note for those who may be concerned. The seating area was meticulously clean, no funky odors and wait staff were pleasant and attentive. The fare is eclectic, with Cantonese style and Szechuan predominating. All are prepared immediately before serving, and dishes come to the table steaming hot. No lukewarm portions here. Our group shared five dishes, plus two large bowls of rice. The portions were all very generous with some leftovers to take home. One dish we tried was the House Special Chop Suey. This had a nice balance of veggies and protein, sourced from beef, pork, chicken and shrimp. The sauce was light, not gloppy, and not oily or greasy. Another dish was the General Chicken. This was nicely battered and fried with just a little nice chili heat. The sweet and sour fish was likewise nicely done with a firm flesh white fish, and it was exceptionally delicious. For hotter fare, we tried the Mabo Tofu. This was«just right» spicy for most of the group, but a little too low on heat for others. The preparation was excellent, with balanced proportions of meat and tofu, and no single spice blanketing the flavor profile. This dish can be oily, but that was not the case here. Lastly we tried the hot boneless chicken pieces. OK… emphasis on hot here! The dish was loaded with tiny hot Szechuan peppers, an assortment of different varieties of peppercorns and some coriander seeds tossed in for good measure. Even when one picked out the peppers, the remaining chicken and sauce were quite zingy, indeed… delicious, but very hot. Prices were modest, and certainly reasonable for the care in preparation, quality and portion size. We all gave this place a two thumbs up, and it’s on our list as a go-to for Chinese fare.

Food was delish!!! Slightly under seasoned but that may be just because I like spicier dishes. Ordered two egg rolls, the shrimp fried rice and cashew prawns… hubby and I were definitely not disappointed. Portion sizes are huge. The food is your typical Chinese-Canadian fare but we were especially surprised by yhe lack of oily-ness that I almost always complain about. This place is a definite gem.

What a great little spot. We were out running some errands and realized we needed to feed out little ones asap. We stumbled upon this place and we are sure glad we decided to check it out. The little shop only has a few tables and seemed like ma and pa operation. The lady was so friendly and very accommodating. She got our kids little plastic plates and cups and the cook even poked his head out of the kitchen and saw our kids and dropped off a couple of toys to keep them busy. Okay let’s get to the food… It was excellent. Portions are really big(the lady even told us that was too much food for us) lol so we ended up reducing our order and man was she right. Shrimp chop suey was excellent, A pile of fresh veggies and shrimp cooked to perfection. Fried rice was yummy too! The lemon chicken was your classic deep fried chicken with lemon sauce but was also delicious. The lady working gave us absolutely outstanding customer service even though she was the only one working. They ended our meal with a big plate of freshly sliced oranges which was just perfect. Great food for the price. Check it out!

I had the sweet and sour pork combo. My partner had the ginger beef combo. Both were great value and both tasted great. I know this place caters more to the ‘Chinese-Canadian crowd’ and that’s okay because sometimes I get a craving for Panda Express when there’s none around. Ginger beef was particularly good; I could really taste the ginger. The combos came with hot and sour soup, which for me was a let down and where I’m deducting a point. The place is clean and the décor is nice. One thing… As we left, I noticed the staff seated at another table and they were eating authentic Chinese food. When I asked what it was, the host giggled and told me the name of the dish but that it was«staff only». I’m not sure if there is a secret menu but I’ll be sure to ask next time.

Excellent Cantonese Canadian style Chinese food. More nicely decorated than the average food joint. It looses a point for loud kitchen fans and small size. It only has seating for about twenty people.

Having lived downtown Vancouver I had so many options for great Chinese food but moving out here to South Surrey ended that. But a few weeks ago while shopping at Morgan Crossing, I stumbled upon Bamboo. I saw the take out pamphlet outside the door. I peered in to see mostly Asian diners which usually means one thing, they’re good, and decided to order dinner from there that evening. I’ve now ordered take out four times from there now. I’ve tried different items and they are all delicious, fresh and all authentic. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the South Surrey Whiterock area.

I’ll try to keep this short and to the point. When we moved to the area from Richmond over 3 years ago, we knew we’d be leaving some of the finest asian restaurants behind. I’ve tried most of the so called, Chinese restaurants in south surrey/White Rock and pretty much all of them have been significant disappointments. Then I get this pamphlet in the mail for Bamboo… and I glance it over and it looks… a lot like the rest of them. It wasn’t until I walked by, peeked in and saw some of the food on the table… and it looked promising. So I decided to take the family in a couple of weeks later. That was tonight… and I’m motivated enough(with a tummy full of great food and Menchie’s) to write a review. That alone should speak volumes. The cuisine is authentic as are the folks running it. While their regular menu really does cater to the… um…western diners looking for Chinese food, they do have two side menu’s for the more exotic/authentic experiences. We ordered off those. We got a Mapo tofu which was sweet and just the perfect amount of spice — in other words, alarmingly hot for those that don’t take spice. We also ordered a Shanghainese noodle(with chicken) and that was good. We started with a chicken, egg and corn soup which is pretty standard Canadian Chinese fare but well done. Price wise, still a bit more expensive than Chinese places in Richmond but a far cry from what you’d have to pay in South Surrey. For our family of 4(2 adults and 2 kids under 7), it’s half the price of Milestones. We were pretty much the only people there but there were about half a dozen take out orders which I’ll likely partake when I don’t feel like cooking after work — which is about every day. I want to rate this 5 stars but will hold off until I sample a few more items on their menu.
