Al Medina Restaurant

We have been here so many times. My family always like to eat here. Good tasty food and good service.

Wow! The food was excellent! Especially the chicken karahi, the Subzi (mixed vegetables to be exact), and the naan. The chicken seekh kabab was a little on the dry side but was good. I’m thinking it was probably made with pure chicken breast. (A little thigh meat would fix that up.) Good grief, we were very impressed with the fresh and perfectly spiced taste with such fast service. Our food came so quick that we were barely finished with our masala chai before the food was being served! The place was spacious with nice seating and good sized tables. Atmosphere was appropriate. Our waiter was young but very attentive to our needs. The best part is that it’s halal. Owner was present as we checked out and was friendly, and appreciative when we complimented the food. Bottom line is food that is very nicely seasoned and flavorable and fast friendly service. One more thing: we are thinking to go for th pizza next time.

While staying in Vancouver, we had a craving for halal food, especially desi.
From Skytrain to buses we finally came across al medina restaurant. Apparently it is newly renovated and open 7 days a week until 11:30pm. Their menu offers different types of pizza as well as AUTHENTIC indian/​pakistani food. They also have chicken wings and kulfi for dessert. The minute we walked in we were greeted and seated and given enough time to read through the menu. They also have an area to read prayers. The chicken karahi and chickar cholay were GREAT. You can tell these owners know their desi food. We did not taste the pizza but I’m almost positive it’s delicious as well. Their naan also arrives fresh, piping hot.
This was one of the best halal restaurants i’ve ever been to. friendly owners, clean restaurant and fantastic service. Highly recommend to Surrey locals and any muslims visiting the vancouver area. It takes about 45 mins via public transportation but it is WELL worth it. will def revisit if ever in the area gain.

Great Pizza and reasonable prices. Take out preferred.
