This was a pit stop for us on a very long car drive. One night stay. We called the night before we stayed here to reserve a crib for our baby. We were ASSURED that one was available. We therefore did not pack a portable crib in order to save space in our car. Upon check-in, the front desk called the staff to deliver a crib to our room. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel. When we got back to our room, probably 2 hours later, still no crib. I sent my husband to the front desk to request it again because it was getting close to our baby’s bedtime and he returned livid because he was told that there weren’t any cribs available. I went to the front desk and the woman said«sorry, no cribs». This is 2 hours later. No phone call, or message to our room that you have no place for our baby to sleep? I told her that I didn’t understand because we called the night before and were assured that there would be a crib. She asked if I wanted to speak to the manager to which I agreed. Becky, the manager, was a complete disappointment. She told me that cribs were by request only and not guaranteed. Well, maybe you should tell your staff that because that is NOT what we were told the night before! She offered no solution to our problem. Where the heck was our baby going to sleep? And to make matters worse, my sister and her family were enroute to the same hotel for the night and have a baby as well. They also had called the night before and were told that they would have a crib as well! So now 2 families are going to have no place for their babies to sleep. Becky didn’t seem to grasp the problem. She was totally unsympathetic, often blank faced as I was trying to explain to her how this was a big problem, and didn’t offer any solutions. Not one. I told her that I saw a Walmart down the street and asked if the hotel would cover the cost for 2 pack and plays. She said that she wasn’t authorized to pay for that. Ok, thanks Best Western. Give your manager the authority to fix a problem!!! She was awful. I ended up going to Walmart and buying two pack and plays for my sister and I for the night. Thanks a lot Best Western. Please, on your website it should say that«cribs are by request only, not guaranteed».

The lobby is newly remodeled but the rooms could really use some updates, they feel dirty. They advertise that they offer free WiFi but the signal is not strong enough to penetrate many of the rooms. We are staying with a large group and several rooms don’t have usable coverage. We called to complain and were told they couldn’t help us. Also, they advertise that all rooms have balconies which is almost true but the rooms in the corners don’t. Of course the family with the baby ended up with that room and they were counting on using the balcony during nap time. The staff is friendly but don’t seem empowered to correct problems.

I had a non smoking room with two double beds. The beds were comfortable enough but I have slept on nicer at other Best Westerns. The mini fridge includes a small freezer. The room was clean. The bathroom was nice, and instead of providing small containers of shampoo and conditioner they had large dispensers attached to the shower wall. The room was on the ground floor facing the interior courtyard that contains the outdoor pool and putt putt course. In spite of that the room was quiet. The morning complentary breakfast was the best I have had at any hotel offering a free breakfast. Hot scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, etc. Maybe its a Canadian thing but they also had baked beans and sliced zucchini. The hotel is right off the QEW about 10 – 15 minutes from MarineLand and Niagara Falls. It is also 5 minutes from Harriot Tubman’s BME church.

Came down for the weekend to do a little shopping and celebrate my daughters birthday. I reserved a room on line for 2 queen beds. when I got to the hotel I realized that I had hit the wrong night and had reserved for the next night. The girl at the desk spoke to the manager and they offered me what they said was the very last room. unfortunately it was a «king suite» and would cost significantly more but they would kindly knock the price down. We ended up with a regular size room with a king size bed, pull out couch and a kichenette all squeezed into one room. it had the tiniest bathroom I have every seen in a hotel. it was more of a stall. The bathtub was dirty. This is suppose to be a 300 dollar suite. Big joke. Although it did have an entire knife block cause that’s just what I’m looking for in a hotel. I opened the curtains in the morning to fine black dirt/mold along the tracks. The kicker is that they want me to call them ten minutes before I check out so THEY can check the room for damages. Best Western is definitely off my list for future hotel stays.
