Broadmoor Public Golf Course

This golf course needs some work. Their tee boxes are like concrete. Try stabbing a tee into one of these things requires a hammer. The greens are close to being back to great shape.
For a course nestled in the heart of Sherwood Park it has a good layout. Plenty of mature trees and growth. It’s a fairly easy layout if you are consistently playing straight and true golf. But if you do end up off the fairway finding your ball isn’t that difficult.
The clubhouse is nice and well laid out. They have a huge banquet room that can accommodate a large number of people. The food is here is decent and fairly priced. Nothing amazing just good cooking. If they focused on the food quality a bit this place could be a hot bed for those looking for a good meal. The scenery is exceptional for those sitting down for a beer or food.

Was here for the first time for a girlfriends baby shower in one of the private rooms. They had a catered party in the private room. Food was outstanding & so was the service! I didn’t golf bit the course looked pretty & well managed!

My son had started golf this year, so we put him in the golf school at Broadmoor. His swing has improved already. Great clean well kept up coarse, and great food in the club house.

Ok, I confess up front. I don’t golf. I have never golfed this golf course.
Now that we have that out of the way, I can tell you that this golf course is a gem in the middle of Sherwood Park. It is tucked so well into the hamlet that it is easy to even forget it is there — unless you live in one of the houses along its edge I suppose.
The Sherwood Park Chamber had their networking breakfast at Broadmoor the other day and I was reminded just how nice it is. Big, bright windows overlooking rolling green… links? or whatever it is there are called. Lots of green stuff.
The food was simple but good and the service was efficient and discreet — nothing worse than having someone lumber around pouring coffee or clanking dishes when someone is talking.
If the atmosphere of the course and the professionalism of the staff are any indication, I am sure they have really good… greens? holes? The putt-​putt-​stuff.
