After going to their peanut plaza location I wasn’t satisfied because they didn’t do my hair that well and didn’t know what I wanted. They also hurried me and didn’t make me feel welcome. But this location is completely different. All the stylists were friendly and the other patrons all looked quite happy. I showed the same pictures and and asked my stylist about it, and received personal advice as to which cut would look the best on me. Very friendly and encouraged me to take some time to make my decision, unlike the first Hair King I went to. As for the cut itself, she did an awesome job with it. I really hated flat hair but she gave me so many layers and volume to it. She also gave me advice on how to keep the style on my own. It was quick and cheap, and I will definitely consider going back in the future. For ladies(like myself) it costs $ 13 because our hair is longer.

Been going to Hair King for 4 – 5 years now since they opened and they’re great. The wait time is usually very fast as they have 4 to 5 staff and all of them are consistent. This is a chinese salon that speaks minimum English, so be clear on what you want. The price is really cheap $ 8 and up cash only for a haircut. Definitely recommend this place.

I usually go to another barber shop that costs $ 25 and is a bit of a travel, but I really needed a cut and found this place locally through Unilocal. No appointment required, I believe it was cash only. The person that cut my hair was a taller guy with glasses. I showed him what I wanted on my phone, which was just a pic of me with the desired cut from a different time. He took a 3 second look at it and knew what I wanted. It’s not a complicated cut anyway. I was in and out in 5 mins. Which was really fast compared to the other places that I’ve been to, but my hair wasn’t that long to begin with. All in all, I would say that they or rather he(since I don’t know how the other people do) did a good job. For $ 8, it is pretty good, it feels like it should be a little more, like closer to $ 12-$ 15. Not as detailed as the place I usually go to, but it’s a good value. The person who said that they tend to get distracted or talk to their colleagues is true, which I like, it makes the place more lively but too bad I don’t understand their language.

The one thing I like about coming here is that regardless of which barber you get, they are always so quick(less than 15 minutes), and they are always consistent. The wait time is never very long, and usually you get served right away. One thing that ppl may not like is the mannerism of the barbers — like sometimes they will have their cell phone ring, then they just walk away for 2 minutes lol, then come back. And they will talk very loud amongst themselves in mandarin. But for $ 8(for a men), you can’t ask for much and they do a much better job than the some of the other places which charge more than double.

I stopped by this place yesterday on a whim. I’ve seen it many times passing by, and I always wondered if it was any good. I walked in, and was greeted by the stylist right away. It was quite empty actually. She seated me, and asked me what I wanted done. I gave her my regular instructions. She did my hair wonderfully. It was a better cut than I’ve gotten at many other places(First Choice, Magicuts, Great Clips etc) While she was doing my hair, about three other customers came in and were seated right away. Stylists came out of the back like clowns coming out a car. It was awesome. I’m very picky, and I like to direct the stylist when they’re doing my hair, and she didn’t seem offended at all. I really like what she’s done with my hair, and I will definitely be going back. Also, the cut was only 8 dollars. Thats right. 8. No tax, nothing. I tipped her 50 percent for that awesome job she did. They also have a deal for 30 dollars, cut and colour for men. I might be back for that! :) Oh, and it’s cash only.
