Super 8 Motel – Sarnia

I’ve stayed here before and I must have had the only decent room in the motel. This time around, I figured I’d stay again based on my first experience and the familiarity of the motel. What a mistake. The room was disgusting in both the cleanliness and the upkeep. Everything was looking very tired and beat up. I found a hair ball on the floor in the bathroom. I will not be back again.

Just the basics but clean and very friendly staff. There was easy free access to wifi and a good continental breakfast. We would stay there again.

A good place to stay for the price, but it was a little bit of a dive. The door to the inner hallway was fine, but the door to the outside from our room didn’t shut properly and so the carpet was all wet. The staff was really nice though, and there was a good breakfast in the morning. Everything else was pleasant about the room and our stay.

I’ve come here on 3 occasions now and must say I’m quite happy with this place.
First off, my experiences with other Super 8’s haven’t been very great — but this one definitely leaves a perfectly satisfied memory.
You know it’s a budget hotel, but it’s one of the better ones I have been to. The budget aspect can be seen in the breakfast and the room objects. However, the breakfast doesn’t leave you unsatisfied at all and the cleanliness of my room makes the furniture seem just fine.
Unfortunately, nowadays I must make internet a big part of reviews of hotels, it’s just too important too leave out. I was happy to be able to do my business related stuff in this hotel with a pretty fast and, most importantly, stable internet connection.
The employee working here was the same as last year and he still remembered me, I find that a nice welcoming sign. The other service personnel was kind and helpful too.
I would say all in all a great experience, whether you’re passing or staying a few weeks like me.

Not someplace I’d want to make my home base for an extended trip, but OK for just passing through. The area around the hotel is a little shady, but we never felt unsafe. Breakfast is served in the lobby, and they have exactly TWO tables.
