Food is excellent but poor service. There is dumb and rude waiter asking for tip like it is mandatory..

Definitely five stars! This Halal Chinese(halal meaning cruelty free/hand slaughtered meat) is my favorite Chinese restaurant. It is very clean. The sidewalks are well-kept, the aroma is light and airy(not heavy), the bathroom is clean and the seating is ample. The staff are very friendly and if you require accommodation or have dietary needs let them know for some great suggestions. We had two dishes, soup, and tea. The total cost was about $ 27US(cheap!). Ample portions and full of flavor. My experience with other Chinese Restaurants, at least in Seattle, is that the food is heavy and I question whether the oil was changed. Not the case here. The food is light, and tastes very fresh. Whereas, I tend to be a blabber mouth American trying to make jokes and push the limit, I noticed that though Canadians are very friendly, they need to be provoked to start talking. If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask. The gentlemen are super helpful. Great experience, however, please note that parking in the back is free but street parking is not free on Sundays. A lot of places in the U.S. have free parking on Sundays but I got a nice red ticket for $ 35CA. You Canadians may have us beat in Chinese Restaurants but not in parking. Canada ey?

I have eaten here twice and found the food fantastic. Special mention to the spicy lamb dish, but everthing was really well done. Underground parking is available, it’s kinda hidden away down a little lane. Décor and seating is vintage Chinese, it’s a bit of a trip. This is a late review, hence the lack of details on the meal. Anyways, this spot is worth checking out. I Look forward to reading more reviews…

The Work Team came here for lunch and I had a Spicy Noodle Soup w/Beef Brisket, Sweet & Sour Pineapple Chicken, and an Appetizer Croquette. The meat here tastes the same as regular non-halal Chinese meat. The spice in the noodle soup was incredibly spicy and gave me tears of happiness. Noodles were also very absorbent of the broth and the meat was pretty tasty. Quality would be a little higher than Duo Tian but not groundbreaking. The Sweet & Sour Pineapple Chicken was pretty sauced up. I couldn’t really tell the difference between this and what you’d find at a fast food restaurant but it’s as enjoyable as candy here. The Appetizer Croquette was a pleasant surprise. Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The filling inside was a nice bean paste and a good sweet start to the meal. All in all this place wasn’t bad and the food was better than I thought.

We’ve been passing by this place for a couple years now and were excited to try it out for the first time last night. We were on a hunt for spicy food and this came up in the Unilocal results. Overall, the quality of their food seems to be good. However, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of flavour. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken($ 14 or $ 15), Chicken fried rice($ 9.50) and Lamb with Cumin($ 16). The Kung Pao Chicken was very odd — it tasted more like sweet and sour Chicken or Ketchup chicken, but the chicken bits used in there were very tender and juicy. It was not spicy at all. The Lamb with Cumin is a dish with deep fried bits of Lamb on top of a bed of Cilantro. While we enjoyed this dish, we didn’t see anything particularly special or outstanding about it. It’s also priced a a bit high at $ 16(in my opinion). This had a kick to it, but I wouldn’t call it spicy. The fried rice here is a fail. It looked exactly like a «house fried rice» you’d see at any chinese café. The peas and carrots were ones you’d find in a frozen bag and the chicken was hardly there. The rice itself was not very«fried rice”-like; it was more like a jumble of white rice and some frozen veggies. It needed that«wok breath» or something crispy to liven it up. Overall, we spent $ 42 after tax(and before tip) with some leftovers. Given that I thought we had ordered 2 of their best dishes(the KP Chicken and Cumin Lamb), I’m a bit disappointed. I was expecting flavour explosions and did not get it. Price-wise, it’s also more expensive than ordering the same dishes at a similar restaurant in the area. Their décor is also a bit to stiff for my taste — they have these chinese décor tables with a tall underlay and if you’re a tall person like my husband, your thighs will crunch up against it so you HAVE to stretch out your legs while sitting. Just overall uncomfortable décor. The service was ok. Nothing bad or good about it. I was a bit bothered that the staff did not do anything about this mother and her kid who were touching the clean dishes and teapot for about a half hour straight. I’m sorry, your kid may be cute, but he just put his hand in his mouth and then grabbed the teapot spout. Yeah, I guess I won’t be returning any time soon. However, I am giving it a 3 stars instead of 2 as just an OK restaurant because the lamb and chicken quality is higher than your average chinese restaurant.

Landed here at 9pm looking for a decent late dinner on a work trip and ended up being delighted! Started off with the guy asking if I took care of parking to make sure I don’t get cited. Did not have Canadian quarters but he hooked me up. Wouldn’t accept my ten dollar bill for change. Then comes the food and service… best Kung Pao chicken EVER. The place had a good Chinese décor and extremely clean. Very courteous waiter who enjoyed his job making recommendations from the menu. Beat of all its all halal. Will go back when I am in the area

One of my favorite chinese restaurants in the lower mainland. I’ve had my past 2 birthday dinners here. Everything on the menu is soo tasty! At least everything that I’ve had, their menu is large but with lots of variety. Thier furniture is beautiful but the chairs could be more comfortable. The service is friendly and quick. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant is excellent. It really exposes non-Chinese people to a cuisine of China that many do not have exposure to; Hui(Chinese Muslim) cuisine. Having lived in China and traveled extensively, I can honestly say it is one of the better executions of Hui cuisine that I have seen outside of China. The only dish which is poor is the Lamb Skewers(Yang Rou Chuanr). The stand out dishes are the Gong Bao Ji Ding(authentic Kung Pao Chicken), the Lamb w/Cumin and the dumplings. They have added ‘typical’ dishes for their Muslim customers who are unfamiliar with Chinese Muslim food like ‘Sweet and Sour Chicken/Fish’ ‘Fried Rice’ which is not a Hui dish, but I urge you to step out of your comfort zone and go with the dishes they are best at.

This place is one of the most rare Chinese restaurants that actually serve halal meat!!! Thats already worth five stars, but I am going to be fair and judge based on everything. I have eaten here for about four times, in all times the service was okay and the server actually remembered me(which is not always the case with some other places I went for about 7 times). The food is tasty if you like Chinese food my personal favorite is the SWEET N SOURPINEAPPLECHIKEN! Definitely try it! The location is really good too, its 5 minute walk from Brighouse station, for those who don’t drive and take the translink. The overall atmosphere is also nice, they have Chinese tables and chairs made from dark wood and the walls are full of Chinese art, I personally like it there :) You can go with friends or family. What makes it a 4 star not 5 star, is that in comparison to their portions and value, the price is on the higher side. I don’t know why, but every time we go there, the bill is somehow more than we expect… In some places the price is really high but you pay it happily because you think its worth it, however with this place… that’s not the case =(

Our friends told us that this restaurant serves great lamb, chicken and beef dishes, in Halal style. We tried some dishes and liked them. The cumin lamb is my favorite. I have posted some pictures in Unilocal. Many dishes here are quite spicy though. The price is a little more than we expected though.
