Authentic, mainland China hotpot in central Richmond. Went as a large group and service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant interior was clean and new. The variety of Hotpot items was impressive, the make-your-own-sauce station was well kept and well stocked and the beverage options were also significant. The highlight is the super spicy, authentic Szechuan soup base. The mushroom soup was also delicious and flavourful.

This is a famous and popular hot pot chain originated from Chongqing Sichuan. I’ve drove by and have seen signs of it under construction for a long time and i was super stoked that it finally opened in August this year. The dining experience is very comfortable and premium — the tables and chairs and the utensils speak of quality and there are lots of overhanging fans to ensure air quality is good. The menu boasts a comprehensive selection of hot pot soup base juices, meat, poultry, seafood, specialty dishes, vegetable divided into several subcategories. And overall the presentation and the quality are superb! Everything is fresh and I love ordering the deep-fried peppercorns pork slices as starter. My favourites are: — spicy butter soup base — thick tomato soup base — deep-fried peppercorns pork slices — deep fried tofu skin — four kinds of balls(including cheese-stuffed beef meatballs) — shrimp paste — various veggie etc There are self-made sweet sour plum juice available by the glass or by the jug as well as an extensive list of local and Chinese beer and liquor. The service is prompt and attentive and come(often) with a smile, which is rare for a Chinese hot pot place. Don’t forget to try various sauce/accompaniment combos at the ingredient bar. Feel free to be creative. The traditional sauce bowl would be: sesame oil, garlic, cilantro and onions with a dip of oyster sauce and sprinkle with some grounded peanuts. Not cheap but the quality is excellent! Amazing soup bases with tons of ingredients, unlimited sauces to choose from including pickled vegetables and kelp, and a membership discount of 20% for birthdays. Membership is free. Everything looks clean and sanitary. They were slow with giving the bill and they need to be more organized but let’s give them some time as they just opened
