I remember visiting Menji years ago, the store was quiet and had very few visitors although their stationary was affordably priced. Clearly, this hasn’t quite worked out of them as half the store has been revamped into a Canada Post Office. While I’m glad that a replacement Canada Post has conveniently opened in Aberdeen after the one on the first floor closed, the space it takes up diminishes the whole Menji store to simply 2 – 3 small shelves. The actual quality of their products is decent-for-price but can sometimes be hit or miss; one time I purchased a set of gel pens where half were broken. Interestingly enough, the half that did work were spectacular and lasted much longer than I expected. It’s a shame though; chances are you won’t find exactly what you’re looking for due to their small inventory, you’ll probably have better luck at Daiso. TL;DR– Good post office location. The store is tiny and probably doesn’t have everything you need. Head to Daiso after.

I came to Aberdeen Mall to have tea with a girlfriend and we did some browsing in the mall. This was one of the stores that we visited. I came here to look at some Kwaii stationary, especially journals since I love writing still. Most things here are so cute that I cannot stand it. This is journal heaven for me. Journals are $$$ but I had to add one of Bear and Kitten for my collection.

Menji is a stationery and notebook shop that’s found in Aberdeen Centre. A bunch of friends and I initially spotted it since one of our group’s name is Kenji and Menji pens just seemed to fit his persona. I came here recently when shopping around Aberdeen for other items. Menji equipment is pretty no-frills but the pens and paper do their jobs. There is a fairly big array of notebooks, albums, pens, and things for the little ones. There are also tiny toys that are shaped like food, which you’d only expect to find in an Asian stationery store! However, in terms of photo albums and scrapbooks, they only had things that looked like they were for weddings, with fake roses and other dove pictures on the front. While I appreciate that they might be anticipating some huge array of weddings to take place(be it for the Chinese good-luck date that happened earlier this year, or some kind of mass wedding that I think only happens in South Korea), I was actually looking for something a little less ornate since I just wanted to create a wine journal. Neat store, but a little disappointing that they didn’t really branch out in terms of products offered.

Menji Stationery is a great discount stationery/office supply shop located on the 3rd floor of Aberdeen Centre, close to the entrance from the parking garage. There is a certain type of person who is a sucker for paper products. I must confess I am one. Show me a cute journal and I’ll add it to the tens I have at home. I still buy stickers and horde them. Yes… I am one of «those» people. One will often find Menji brand products at stores like Daiso or Asian shops. This store is completely dedicated to their line. You will find a great selection of things like scissors, pens, adhesives, shipping materials, stationery, art supplies, blank books, picture frames and albums. Quality is good for the price point. For instance, a pair of 8.5″ scissors is only $ 3. Binders are generally less than $ 2. They have a great selection of children’s stationery and art supplies. Many items are less than $ 2. They have great school supplies — notebooks, rulers and pencil boxes with fun motifs. Interestingly, they also carry a small amount of blind box toys… and I believe they have a small selection of re-ment here. For crafters on a budget, Aberdeen has a dream duo of shops for your needs: Menji and Daiso! Cheap and cute! 16⁄30(12b)
