Walked around Aberdeen Centre shopping mall the other day looking for a place with mens band to set my diamond. Many of the shops carried only ladies’. I stopped by Christine Jewellers on the ground floor and was welcomed by a very kind and helpful sales associate. She educated me on the kind of band to set my diamond in and measured my finger size. I picked up the band a week later, very happy of the finished product. It wasn’t until a month later when I had a friend in the jewellery business who took a look at my band and said it is handcrafted. I was surprised to hear that because most of the rings and bands nowadays are made from the wax method. It’s pretty rare to find handcrafted gold jewelry because of the labor time required. I was very surprised they didn’t tell me that their products are handmade, even though it could have been an advantage of the product to toss at me during the sales pitch. They’re a very modest jewellery shop and you’re getting your money’s worth.
