I’ve been coming to Bob’s for years. The only real greasy spoon diner in Richmond center area. Cheap breakfast that’s fast greasy and hits the spot. Perfect for hang overs! The sandwiches are greasy, but I still like them. Meat meat and more meat! Pretty crummy décor and there is always transients outside, but it’s probably because it’s cheap to eat here. Richmond classic!

Kind of a grubby chaotic dump but the value is decent for what you get-condiment containers could use deep cleaning.

Been walking past here since the 90s and have never been in! Cant believe all those wasted years of not knowing where to go for breakfast. Hubby had the full breakfast for $ 6 And I had a hot sandwich for $ 5. Very decent sizes and portions, great bang for buck and tasty. Service is ok. It’s cafeteria style, where you pick up your own utensils and sauces at the front. Definitely will return and recommend to others.

Okay. When you first walk in, there’s this drafty, greasy smell that permeates the air and stays with you even after you leave. However, it’s totally worth the trip back home for a change of clothes. I’ll explain why. So we dropped in for breakfast, deciding to try our luck with the funky hours that others have mentioned. We were lucky, as there were already several people in front of us. Between the two of us we got the: breakfast sandwich with double bacon and egg(extra $ 0.50 on top of the $ 4.50), the #3 two egg breakfast(two eggs, bacon/sausage/ham, toast, and hashbrowns), and two coffees($ 1.50 each). The food arrived within 10 minutes, which is rather impressive given the fact that there were already several orders in with only one person working. The breakfast sandwich that I ordered looked tiny in comparison to the two egg breakfast, I even thought that I’d have to get another one to fill me up. I was so wrong. Halfway through the greasy, crispy bacon and egg sandwich saturated in cholesterol and dressing, I was stuffed. Apparently the two egg breakfast was eggcellent ;) too– standard breakfast foods. Make sure to know exactly what you want before you get to the counter as the lady is in charge of the grill and cash register and she’ll probably yell at you if you cause her to overcook her eggs. But she’s friendly, for the most part. Overall, really a greasy-spoon type of establishment. Solid food and efficient service. Strong coffee too; kudos to them.

Great value for money… don’t expect anything incredible. The big breakfast is 6 dollars. The coffee was actually decent. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wanted a fast big meal.

Came here 3 days ago because I was already parked in the area I wanted to get some grub. This place feels like you’re in some diner on the side of the highway and you won’t really notice it from the streets. One of the best things about this place is that they don’t charge tax! Anyway, their specials are ridiculously cheap compared to what other places are charging. But they are known for their subs(hence the name), which are just packed with meat. I usually struggle to finish more than a six inch here. I had the six inch cold cut. The food is probably about 3.5 stars out of 5, but overall I will definitely bump it to 4 stars just because you get such great bang for your buck. Word of caution, they don’t accept credit cards and will charge you 25 cents if you use debit for a transaction less than $ 5.

This restaurant was awesome! I had Super sub 6inc it conbined salami, beef, cheese, mushrooms, tomato and cabbage for only $ 5.90. There are other subs, sandwichs and burgers that are even cheaper. There’re more than 30 items on the menu. you have the option of fries, onion rings or fried chicken. they have large portions and cheap prices. Yummy yummy in my tummy!

The décor reminds me of my friend’s place on the Drive. This isn’t a bad thing. It just made me feel more at home even though this is not what they were intending. It is a greasy spoon but if you’re going to do greasy have a little respect for yourself and have it here rather than a fast food joint. Cheap filling food, good customer service.

Bob’s Subs will rock your world. It is one of the very few greasy spoons type diners left in Richmond and these folks know how to do it up. Breakfast is all day, every day and as many reviewers have mentioned, the Super Sub is the holy grail of subs. It is greasy, meat filled, and wonderful. This place is not concerned with trivial matters like aesthetics. Everything looks dated, with posters that are definitely curling over and onto themselves. However, their purpose is not to visually woo you. Bob’s Subs are here to serve you food that will fill that empty void in your life and leave you wanting more. As a final note, when ordering the Super Sub I highly recommend getting it with banana peppers and adding in some ranch sauce(found in the stand up fridge) or mustard. With this much meat and cheese, you need something sour or saucy to break it up a bit.

ZEROSTARS… Ugh Why Unilocal? Why did you tell me 4⁄5? Pros? –I didn’t get food poisoning Cons? –imagine Bologna. Make it less high quality… Add a gross unsanitary factor… That’s the meat that was on my deli sandwich –grilled cheese was handled by hand by the girl who took the cash for the person before me… Had one slice of fake cheese and one slice of fake bacon cooked early in the day… Ew –such a gross facility… Why didn’t I walk out?

This a hole-in-the-wall diner with décor for the 70s. Do not let that fool you, the food here is incredible. I’m going to keep this short and simple. All the subs here are gigantic, ever the 6 inch sub is loaded with meat(and toppings). They slice their own meat and whenever you go in they have whole onions that they cut for the sub and whole potatoes they prepare for their breakfast hashbrowns. Finally, the portions are massive, so come hungry.

Somehow diners always manage to find themselves on my radar. This is no exception. It’s pretty dingy and it’s basically a cafeteria style establishment. Go up to the counter, place your order, and they’ll call you when it’s ready. Don’t expect anything fancy. The food is prepared fresh in front of you. The big breakfast is, big. Will give Bön’s a run for the money. Three eggs, 5 sausage, hashbrowns and toast. The hashbrowns are made in house — there was a pile of boiled potatoes behind my seat. The sub? Fresh and tasty and a lot better than Subway. The grilled onions really make the sub. The prices cannot really be beat. What else can I really say?

This place may not appeal to the eyes, but it certainly pleases the tastebuds and fills the stomach. If you’re hungry and craving for breakfast or subs, this place is the haven for you. Breakfast all day, their«Bob’s big breakfast» is my absolute favourite, you can never go wrong with that. Their submarine sandwiches are juicy, fresh, and amazing. They accept both debit and cash, enjoy and fill yourself up for less than $ 8! They don’t have wifi, but if you’re a shaw customer, you can receive strong signals of «Shawopen»

Hands down, the best subs/sandwich I’ve ever had! I’m ranking their Super Sub ahead of some of the best deli sandwiches I had in NYC and a Philly Cheesesteak in a questionable neighbourhood in North Philly. But I digress. Thanks to my brother who banks around the corner, he found this dive of a gem and shared this magnificent secret. I’ve never had anything but the droll-worthy Super Sub. The sandwich is grilled to perfection: thin slices of beef are grilled to juicy perfection next to the crispy and spicy capicollo with sweet caramelized onions and mushrooms. Before the sandwich is served, it’s heaped with fresh, crunchy lettuce in a carefully toasted sesame seed bun. It can get busy at times but worth the wait.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover… This place gives a definite«Diners, Drive-ins & Dives» vibe… but in a good way! Yes, the restaurant is dark, small and not the cleanest but they turn out some well loaded sandwiches. I stopped in to pick up two steak subs for dinner and they were A) a good price B) served up quick and C) Delicious. d

Way better than any sub you can get at Subway or Quizno’s. And for less. And with more meat. How can you go wrong? Keep in mind a 6″ will fill most people up and you’ll need a stretchy waistband if you’re going for a foot long.

On my last trip to BC, I decided to stay in Richmond. After dropping off my luggage, I searched for nearby eateries for a quick bite and this shop came up. Good ratings and some yummy-looking pictures. You order/pay at the counter and pick up your food there too. An Asian lady was taking the orders and I saw another Asian lady taking care of the grill. The tables were a bit dirty, but otherwise I liked this place for its good, cheap eats. My BACON, EGGANDCHEESEBREAKFASTSANDWICH was perfect. A soft, gooey sandwich with a fried egg and crispy bacon. And just $ 3.50.

Why waste your hard earned cash on a McSandwich at the Golden Arches or anywhere else in Richmond for that matter when you can get an awesome Bob’s breakfast sandwich that is made fresh on the spot and ready to eat in less than 5 minutes. Eat in or take out, this greasy spoon deserves a must try for those looking for something off the beaten path. HEY! Even the Vegetarian Sub Rocks! This place is usually busy and practically all their subs, sandwiches and breakfast items are highly rated. Even the fried chicken is decent. Bang for the buck, it’s a hands down winner for greasy spoon diners run by a really cool Korean family. I had deleted my old reviews of this place and thought that I should rewrite a new one to update what was once reviewed by moi before. To quote a good friend Jeremy B(now in Malaysia), «Grease, cheap, generous portions, and all day breakfast. Count me in! « And I also love orange. Kamsahamnida to Bob’s Subs.

This is a Greasy Spoon! If you are looking for healthy, this is not the place for you! A lot of regulars eat here and they are busy, which means there is high turnover and the food is not sitting around. Order what you want from the counter, pay and then pick up when they call you. This is totally self serve. We ordered the Big Breakfast! It’s huge! We were confused, since the choice was sausage or ham as the variable we ordered one of each. Since the 3 eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast were all the same. We ended up with double sausage and double ham, and no bacon in sight, and it looked good on all the other plates. The table of five next to us ordered the Fried Chicken that everyone says to avoid. I asked them how it was and they said it’s good if you come at lunch. We will come back and try the Super Sub for lunch! After our arteries have a rest.

Pretty epic. If you like sandwiches, do yourself a favor, and stop by this place next time you’re in the area. That super sub, dang. I think there was almost 2 inches of layered salami and steak, underneath all that lettuce, tomato, melted cheese, and mushrooms in a grilled sesame bun. Haven’t had something that good at a restaurant in a while for less than $ 6. I also had the fried chicken. It’s pretty darn good for chicken in a heater. If it had been freshly fried, I think it would have been a toe-to-toe fight with LA Chicken for best in Richmond. There’s basically no reason to go to Tim Horton’s at Richmond Centre or McDonald’s down the block if you can come here. It’s cheaper, fresher, and you get almost twice the amount of food.
