Had their croissant and chocolatine. They were good, different from the ones at Paillard, a big and popular bakery on the same street. Paillard’s tastes heavier and butterier, and is larger in size. This place is actually just a tad more expensive than Paillard(similar prices, but smaller pastries), BUT it is a very cute and cozy local bakery run by just a few people, so it has its own charm! I personally prefer Paillard, but some people might find this place more charming than Paillard which is more commercialised and busy, so hey, why not try multiple bakeries!

Tiny little place on Rue Saint-Jean but the bakery is fantastic. Bread looked outstanding and the pastries are the best we had in Quebec, perfectly flaky and great flavor without being oily. The almond croissant may have had a bit too much almond paste for my liking(I know, never thought I’d say that) but the pain au chocolat was just as good as you’ll find in Paris. My wife is a coffee nut and was not a fan of the café au lait which is why only 4 stars, but the bread and pastries have to be some of the best in North America.

Checked out this place when we went to Quebec City this past weekend for Carnival. A nice gem of a find on St Jean street. All the pastries and breads looked great, and apparently they make their own flour, which is pretty neat. We had some«almond cream» croissants. They were so good that we had to come back the next morning to get some for the train back! Will definitely come back next time I’m in Quebec.

I loved this place. I was visiting Quebec City and was just wandering the streets when I encountered such an entrancing delicious smell which drew me inside. I had a coffee and a sandwich there and I have to say that it was the nicest Beef Sandwich I have had in a very long time. I was very regretful that I was leaving the next day and didn’t have an opportunity to go back for another one. It has a large selection of cakes and pastries as well as all kinds of breads available. It also had an area where you could sit down and eat and there were a number of pretty girls reading and taking a coffee there. I’m thinking of going back to Quebec City just to get another sandwich. It was incredible.
