Port Moody Dog Grooming

This place has given my dog the worst haircut he has ever had. His hair was quite long when I brought him in at 9:30am on a Saturday morning. The groomer asked me how short I wanted it, and I said, «Not too short, like shaved, but about half the length it is.» I also said I didn’t want the mustache area super long like many groomers do. She said okay, I’ll call you when he’s ready.
Four hours later, still no phone call. I called, and she said she needed another 20 minutes. When I arrived a half hour later, she brought him out and immediately I didn’t like it. The hair around his face was short and very choppy, his ears were super long (don’t think she cut much off) and in comparison to his head, the hair on his body was disproportionately long. When I commented on that, she said a bit rudely, «Well, you wanted his face short». Seriously? I honestly didn’t think I needed to explain that the cut should be in proportion all over, and that it should be tapered off, not cut off in a clumsy, chunky manner. I thought it was common sense. I guess not. I guess you need to draw a picture to explain precisely what to do, because God forbid they would be professional groomers and know what looks good and what doesn’t.
She ‘fixed’ his ears to make them shorter, but said she would need another hour to trim his body, but I had somewhere else to be and couldn’t wait another hour. His face was quite uneven (one side longer than the other) and it just doesn’t look good. I seriously could’ve done the same myself with no training. The reason I don’t, is that I try to avoid this kind of result. For $ 55, I expect better quality. I will definitely not go back here.
