This yarn store is nicely organized and has some very lovely products in stock. Yes, it doesn’t have a ton of stock — which is problematic if you have a particular color in mind for a particular type of wool. They do have many types of wool, and the environment is welcoming, but definitely specialized– i.e. it’s not Michael’s. The woman who helped me navigate through the yarns(as I’m an advanced beginner) was very nice, patient and knowledgeable, which made me think that their classes would be great.

So … I think I’m giving this a lower score than most people would, based on reading I’ve done about this store — and I reserve the right to change my mind about my rating after I go back a few times. Let me explain: We moved here a few months ago. In our previous location, I was spoiled with 3 *great* yarn stores within a half-hour drive — one of them just a few minutes away and one with an extensive spinning supply. I was excited to read about Wabi-Sabi — it sounded like a great destination store that would feed my fibre addiction. Finally made it over there today — and, while the store is a lovely store I was disappointed by the relatively small choice of yarn and roving. The space they are in is wonderful — and it looks like they have a great workshop area in the back… but I’m stuck on the smaller-than-I’m-used-to yarn assortment. I’m sure I’ll get over it… right? While I will definately return — I will also definately keep looking for my yarn nirvana in the Ottawa area. Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: Sure.
