Vincent Massey is an awesome community gathering spot in the Riverside area. I’ve been there for family picnics, work barbecues and just to hang, and it’s been a great experience every time. The park is lovely with a bandstand, softball diamond and plenty of open areas for other sports like volleyball, soccer, and football. There’s plenty of picnic tables and barbecue pits for public use as well. There’s some pretty lovely hiking and biking trails here, but be sure to bring the bug spray — I’ve been eaten alive by mosquitos more than once here! The only reason I’m not giving it a five star? They don’t allow dogs, either on or off leash. Boo! They also charge a $ 7 parking fee, which I find a bit much. Regardless of these points, it’s a great spot to spend the day with friends and family. Be sure to call them if you want to book a private event as their calendar fills up pretty quickly — this place is always busy on summer weekends!
