Went there on a busy Sunday morning. I don’t mind waiting in lines. In fact it is always a good sign. Waited for about 30min before getting a table for 3. I had the eggs benny on their homemade molasses bread. It was good but I have had better eggs benny. Loved the potatoes though. It was also quite pricey and I left still hungry. Maybe it was a bad order choice? Maybe it would have been better on the classic english muffin.

Best brunch spot in the city. Better come before 10 though! After that the line up is out the door. That being said, food is served extremely fast and turn over is quick. I absolutely love the omelettes. They are packed with filling and served with delicious potatoes. The banana bread French toast is also amazing. My sister can’t get enough of the ricotta pancakes. The service is great and the staff are always smiling and never annoyed even when it’s crazy busy.

Pricey, but worth it. You will fall in love with everything on the menu. My favourite item is the banana bread french toast or the eggs Benny. Generous portions that are even better as leftovers. Very friendly and funny people who work here

Second time and I ventured to try the eggs benny this time :) Because the dilemma is about a MUST for having the homemade molasses toast, it was easy after understanding I could get the Benny with the toast instead of the traditional english muffin… so, no brainer! Glad I did, simply outstanding and the hash/mash is awesome too! Highly recommend this awesome breakfast spot, its surely worth the wait! Don’t forget to grab a loaf to go ;)

Visiting Ottawa, and met a friend here for brunch. Worst idea ever. I’m too full and satisfied to see the city! Had the Chicken Bobotie Eggs Benedict, and it was unreal. Molasses bread toast was awesome. I have a personal vendetta against melon in fruit salads, but apart from that this was an awesome brunch experience.

Nothing particularly special — I appreciated that the scrambled eggs were not overdone and dry like many other breakfast joints; But the hash and homemade sausage patties were nothing to write home about. Pleasant staff and atmosphere.

This place was great and we could go back. The coffee was delicious. It was hands down the best java I have had in a restaurant that isn’t a coffee shop. I had the feta cheese scramble which was very flavourful and cooked perfectly. Not runny and still moist. The hash brown was tasty it had some peppers in and a bit of flavouring. It didn’t taste like something on my plate just there to fill up space. The molasses toast was delicious. I didn’t find it dry. It tasted like a whole grain bread which I like however if you don’t like that sort than don’t get it. My husband had the traditional breakfast and was very happy with it. He ordered a ricotta blueberry pancake on the side. It was light, and very fragrant in flavour. The blueberries had a nice flavour and seasoning on them. My husband said the lemon curd with the pancake was outstanding. I highly recommend trying the pancake. It is too sweet for a full breakfast unless you have a big sweet tooth.

The blueberry ricotta pancakes might be the best pancakes on the planet earth. I don’t say this lightly… These heavenly clouds smothered in syrupy buttery goodness with a dab of whipped cream and that lemon curd(!!!) made me forget who/where I was while I was eating them. 10⁄10 would inhale again.

We went here yesterday for breakfast. The food was good, the service was good and since it was my birthday they gave me a free cake which was very thoughtful. My fiancé and I had the eggs benny. I had the californian with gluten free bread. The eggs were done right and the bacon and diablo sauce were delicious. My only suggestions would be to double today the gluten free bread and to have slices of avocado instead of avocado spread on the bread since it really didn’t come through. My girlfriend had the veggie omelet and said it was very good. The coffee was excellent! Service was good and our server was friendly. Food came out quickly. The girls chocolate wad rich but good. The prices are a little steep but I will be back.

This place is extremely busy on Sundays! Be prepared to wait in the line for a while. Our waitress was very nice. We ordered the Natasha Benny and corned beef with eggs. The food was average. Probably won’t go back again.

Jerk Rib for breakfast? Maybe a dream comes true for a meat lover? At Stoneface Dolly’s you can find tradtional favorite and other more unique offerings: bobotie which is a South African dish. Chicken Bobotie Benedict($ 15.50) Jerk Breakfast Ribs($ 17) + Upgraded to Poutine($ 2.50) I love the spicy Jamaican rub on the ribs. For $ 17 it was definitely worth it Stoneface Dolly’s is a solid restaurants if you looking for a restaurant that would offers you a daily brunch options with well prepared food made from scratch.

This place is fabulous! I had breakfast with my husband and daughter on Wednesday and absolutely loved it. The portions were very generous and their home made molasses bread was to die for. Our server was sweet and very friendly. Safe to say I’ll be back soon!

Ok so let me start off by saying that having to rate this place at 2 stars kills me. I really learned how to cook a restaurant style breakfast from the original owner from years back. To start the molasses toast is now mass produced, is dry and will never be the same as the home made thing(I have had the home made thing and it’s a billion times better than the crap I had on the weekend!). Now to start the place was busy and as soon as I walked in some asked me how many people and I said two and he walked away. The staff than cleaned 5 tables and nobody was sat. Ten minutes later they finally sat people(as was I) and things got rolling. Our waitress was prompt and this is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. She got our drinks and order quickly. Than we waited 25 minutes for our food, and honestly I could have had better food anywhere else. Eggs were cold, protein was fine, potato hash was meh and under seasoned. I don’t know what to say, except they are victims of their own success.

I have been here for brunch for over 10 years including when it was smaller and located on Bronson and continued to find it to be a sure bet for a great breakfast. My favourite is the #1 omelet with pesto, tomato concasse, portobello mushrooms and choice of Brie, gongorzonla or goat cheese, served with a side of pan fried mash potatoes, a side of leafy greens and their locally made toasted molasses bread. If I am really, really hungry, I will add a side of sausages or bacon but that is a lot of food. The omelet is huge. I tried the Chicken bobotie eggs benefict for the first time today and loved it. The bobotie is minced chicken in a curry sauce, served over their locally made bread and with soft poached eggs covered in a Hollandaise sauce. The coffee is good and refills are free. I have only been here for dinner once and thought it was ok. I had a lamb shank with Israeli couscous. It had a homemade feel to it. I think I am just so happy with their brunch that is all I want when I come here. There is usually a bit of wait for a table if you get there after 9:30am but it is totally worth it! Service is usually prompt and professional and they are very accommodating with children.

We found this place after searching for good brunch in Ottawa and found this place on Unilocal. When we first got there we saw that there was a decent line up out the door which is always a good sign. Despite the line the wait staff had us seated within 5 minutes which was most impressive. I ordered the Tex Mex benny and my wife ordered the corned beef hash. Both were enjoyable though if we were to go again I would order the corned beef hash as it was better than the benny IMO. Their only downside is that the coffee tasted extra acidic which was a bit offputing. Also I wish they offered freshly squeezed OJ. Would I go back? More than likely.

I’m picky when it comes to going out for breakfast and brunch because I love to cook and can whip up most breakfast dishes to be as good or better, for less money. Stoneface Dolly’s is worth the splurge, though. The molasses bread is amazing, especially with the eggs benedicts, which are imaginative and wonderfully prepared. The coffee is fresh and very tasty. We did not have to wait long to be seated but I know from reputation and because they’ve got systems set up to deal with lines that this isn’t always the case. Worth keeping in mind when you could be lined up! I had the eggs benny special, which as you can tell was very good. The brother had ricotta pancakes and said they were phenomenal. His girlfriend had a Thai soup she raved about. I normally skip the potatoes, but they’re just too good to do that here. Now I’m just looking for an excuse to go back with the man for more of that amazing bread. If you’re looking for brunch, even if it’s not the meal you normally splurge on, this place is worth a visit.

It has been over a year since my last brunch experience here(not for lack of trying — the lineup has always been too long!), and being the civilized, brunching ladies that we are, sister Laura B and I decided to see if we could squeeze in around noon on a Saturday. Much to our amazement, we didn’t even have to wait outside! In fact, we only waited about five minutes for a table, which was mind-blowing. The place was still packed, but instead of the overcrowded and highly caffeinated vibe of somewhere like Cora’s, this place was all mellow. I love the big, open bar and the easy layout of this place. The décor is understated but lovely. It’s got a great atmosphere. The age range was around late twenties-thirties and we saw a couple of kids around, so I think it would be an okay spot for a family meal. We were seated at the very back near the restrooms which I thought might be awkward, but was actually quite lovely. It was peaceful and cozy. We did have to wait several minutes to actually speak to anyone, but our server was a total sweetheart(I think her name was LeeAnne) and very friendly without being intrusive. She kept our waters filled and our coffee hot. Food-wise, I had a great experience. One thing that’s really worth mentioning is their gluten-free options. I got the original Bobby Mac sandwich(which you can usually get on an English muffin or their famous molasses bread) on gluten-free bread that was SO good! It came with a side of hasbrowns(which are like legit mashed potatoes with veggies and seasoning… not stringy, shredded things), and a nice fresh fruit bowl. It was perfect. I also ordered their specialty homemade grapefruit juice which was delish. I’m eager to try their mango orange next time! I topped of the meal with a slice of their flourless chocolate cake. It was basically like fudge… über sweet but paired perfectly with the real whipped cream. I also put a dollop of their raspberry jam on top because it was too hard to resist. So. Good. I also noticed they stock a locally-made hot sauce on the tables which is fun. Now, it was kind of pricey. I did get dessert and a specialty drink… but I still find $ 30 a lot for brunch. That being said, this place hit it out of the park. When I’ve got some extra cash and need a lovely brunch in Little Italy, this is the perfect spot.

Unlike most posters here I haven’t actually been to Stoneface Dolly’s for Brunch, I went there on my lunch break this week and boy was I impressed! Its located in the heart of little of little Italy and it is one of the better sit down lunch spots in the area, and of the best places to eat without having to spend a fortune. I went for lunch with some coworkers. The service was very good for the fact that the place was packed, the staff sis not seem stressed or overwhelmed. They have a good selection of Ontario microbrews on draught as well as a pretty solid wine selection. For food I had a most delicious burger while others in my group thoroughly enjoyed what they had. It is a bit pricey for lunch, my burger was 15 dollars so I wouldn’t go often but for a special lunch occasion I highly recommend it. Be warned it gets very busy so make a reservation if possible.

Stoneface Dolly’s was an excellent brunch if you’re looking for something more than the usual eggs, toast, and homefries. Don’t get me wrong, they still serve that, but I wouldn’t go there to eat that since you can get it cheaper and just as tasty(or tastier, depending on who you’re talking to) from elsewhere. But their more specialty items, like the blueberry ricotta pancakes… delicious! And worth the price. Also, not sure why everyone raves about the molasses bread, but it was just ok. The sourdough bread was better in my opinion. I found the molasses bread to be too dense and dry, although the flavour was different from any bread I’ve had before. The place has a nice brunch atmosphere. The open garage-style window in nice weather is perfect. And our server was great. Really efficient, helpful, and good at her job. Honestly, I think if you order something different here like the eggs benedict or blueberry ricotta pancakes, you’ll have a 4-star experience. If you order the two-egg breakfast, it’ll be a 3-star experience at best.
