Starbucks

As sad as I am that the Marcello’s closed in this location, I am SOOoo glad to have a Starbucks in the area where I work*! Now I can collect stars on my coffee card every day if I like! This location is an easy walk from my office, so I can get my fix on the way into work, at lunch, and on the way home (if I need that much caffeine). *If you work for the Federal Government in Tunney’s Pasture, you’ll know that they have a contract with Lorne Murphy Foods to provide all the food in all the cafeterias in the Pasture. This has left many people grumbling at the lack of variety or free choice.
Like other Starbucks locations, this one offers free wifi and cozy seating. This is a nice bright location with a wall of big windows. There are some café tables out front as well. The staff is polite and attentive. There was a great build-​up of anticipation as I watched this outlet being built from the ground up. Bravo to Starbucks, and may there always be a coffee shop in this mall no matter what else changes. (Note: this is a little bit of a dig on my part, as there used to be an indie coffee shop in this mall, called «Thanks a Latté».) Rumours have it that the Government wants to increase office space in this building so that the stores and restaurant businesses may be getting squeezed out. Whatever the reason, there have been quite a few changes here in the last few years. Even the bank has moved to a new location on Wellington! Stay tuned, I would guess that the changes are not yet complete in this mall. Mind you, all of Westboro has changed a lot in the last 10+ years; there are a lot more and a great variety of places to go out to eat.
