Stopped in for dinner take-out. Ordered the vegi platter. Four bone-dry balls of stale falafel microwaved in styrofoam; some lettuce and veggies on the side, a couple spoonfuls of sauces. No rice or potatoes(that’s extra?). One small, cold pita. $ 13. Yes, thirteen dollars for falafel and salad. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing and the shawarma is awesome? Or the sandwich is the way to go? Who knows, but I feel disappointed and cheated. Two stars because I didn’t get sick.

I had been on the hunt for a falafel sandwich because I had been craving one for days and couldn’t find one on the bus route home from work. This isn’t on the way but it’s close enough. The staff were very friendly and I got my food fast, it was pricey for the size of it, I ordered a large and it was like a six inch sub for $ 10. I didn’t order anything with it. It was okay tasting, I will go back if I need to but still on the hunt so I don’t have to go downtown and back.

I check out most of the shwarma places whenever I can so I had to stop in here to their beef shwarma sandwich. It was ok but really I can’t say that I was extraordinarily impressed by any part of this shwarma shop vis a vis service and food. In the few times that I have been there I would not say that these things are bad, just that it isn’t enough to impress. If people really want their business to do well they have to bring some energy and interest in their customers forth. In the case of this place they did not listen to me closely to get my order right. I got a chicken shwarma instead of the beef one i ordered. I didn’t complain or anything– chicken was fine.

I used to live around the corner from this little slice of shawarma delight, and we frequented quite often. This is the first time I’ve been back in about a year, and while the staff seemed to have switched up a bit, the food is exactly the same. You get a TON of whatever your oder. I usually get the chicken plate which has shaved chicken from the spit, which is yummy, salad and potatoes. The garlic sauce and hummus is awesome as well! It’s super filling and impossible to eat all at once. It’s not as good the next day, so I recommend sharing! I like that they ask how many pitas you want as well — some days I’m one, somedays two, right? The baklava is yummy as well, and the prices are decent. For this massive order it was about $ 12, which I think is fair for fresh food that lasts for more than one meal. If you’re on Carling and looking for some yummy shawarma check this place out. They have a ton of seating so it’s always a nice option when you’re with a group of coworkers or friends. #30DaysOfYelp — 9⁄30
