While awaiting your next bus or train at Fallowfield Station, I would definitely recommend you make camp at this café. Otherwise your unflattering selection of dessert foods and/or coffee within this locale consist of McDonald’s and Tim Hortons. The exterior/interior may not seem as inviting relative to other contemporary cafés. However, it definitely offers a more muted environment(quieter and serene) than its aforementioned neighbouring competitors. Sidenote: my review might not be as revelatory compared to frequent patrons of Nestle Toll House — I have only visited and sampled at this location twice now. My initial visit a few months ago was rather unambitious in that I only ordered their classic coffee. Contrasting McDonald’s and Tim Hortons coffee though, which I have sampled copiously, Nestle’s roast tasted more smokey and not burnt(as I find with Tim Hortons quite frequently). I enhanced my second visit with a baked good — the Cookies and Cream brownie for under 4 $ was very delish and satiating(for a self-professed lightweight). I could not resist the Oreo cookie atop a layer of icing.

Half their menu items were unavailable 2 hours before closing… Maybe should close 2 hours earlier?!

Came here during a trip to Ottawa with some family. The drink I got was way too sweet for a coffee based beverage! It took over 20 minutes to get my crêpe bur it may have been because we walked in as soon as they opened. Their ice cream was good and the crêpe was ok but I found it hard to enjoy because of the flimsy plastic cutlery. All in all, a good experience but nothing special. Wouldn’t make a point of coming again.

Just okay. The ice cream sandwiches were so tiny, ice latte was just average. A little bit disappointing. The décor was cute and bright

Cookie cakes, make your own ice cream sandwiches, fro-yo, and more! I was very impressed with the selection at Nestle Toll House Café. The idea of making my own ice cream sandwich was mind blowing. You get to choose any two cookies to make up the«bread» of your sandy, and choose one of the ice creams as your center. The staff serving us was reluctant to advise what her favourite item was, but there are so many choices I can’t blame her. After choosing what looked to be the most delicious sandwich, with a toffee cookie, a chocolate chip cookie, and espresso ice cream, I felt bad that my main squeeze was going to hear about my yummy sandy and he didn’t get anything… so I got him a Chocolate chip cookie cup to ensure I didn’t get my ear bitten off. We sat at a table by the window to enjoy our treats, it was quite lovely. You may all be wondering at this point why I chose to give them a 2 star rating… well you see, after we sat down to enjoy the goodness that was an ice cream sandwich, with soft cookies and scrumptious ice cream, I opened up my sandwich to use a spoon, only to find a hair that belonged to our server. I went up to the counter and she exchanged it immediately, but having worked in the food service industry myself, I cannot believe that she did not have to wear a hairnet. I might go back, but it would only be to try the items that are prepacked.

Fauve G and I stopped by this fun little spot on our way home from Fallowfield Station. It’s super convenient as it’s literally across the street from the bus station at Fallowfield and Woodroffe. I’d driven by this place a few times and had heard they had ice cream, and it was such a lovely day out we popped in. A small, but cheery place, there’s lots of seating(even some booths and a little conversation area!) and TONS of Nestle products everywhere. The display cases featured delicious looking cookies, other treats like brownies and peanut butter cups and, the best — giant cookies! There were some really great ones, and our favourite was one asking if someone would go to prom with them — cutest! Beside that case there was a cooler with about 6 different ice cream flavours — mostly basics like chocolate chip, brownie and espresso. Beyond that there is also a self serve frozen yogurt area with about 8 different flavours that are guaranteed gluten free — yay! We asked the girl working the counter what her favourite was, and she said she didn’t have one(wah wah wah). We both decided to go for the ice cream sandwiches — two cookies of your choice with ice cream in the middle. I went for an oatmeal cookie on top, English toffee chocolate chip on the bottom ad peanut butter chocolate ice cream. It was sooooo much, but I(ahem), still managed to polish it off. I wasn’t a fan of the English toffee cookie — it was too crunch, but I loved the oatmeal and chocolate peanut butter combo. All was going well(minus the blah service), until Fauve G found a hair in her ice cream that was clearly not her own. We chalked it up to the girl at the counter sans hairnet. I’ll let her explain her feelings in her review, but needless to say it ruined the experience a bit. While I really liked the atmosphere, décor and the idea behind this place, the service fell flat, and yeah, the hair was gross. I do love the idea of their cookie decorating classes though, and want to pop by again to try the Froyo. I’ll report back!

I love the concept of this café! Baked goods, frozen yogurt, and smoothies all in one place. There’s no need to decide what to have for dessert anymore, you can have them all! And all in a cozy, bright, café atmosphere. Even though I love cookies, my favourite part of Nestle Toll House is the frozen yogurt. Compared to frozen yogurt stores like Menchies, I think the Nestle flavours taste better(less fake!) and the selection of toppings is pretty good but not so large that I enter decision paralysis. I also had the cookie special of the day(English Toffee Chocolate Chip) and a peanut butter cup, and both were delicious. The cookies were the large chewy kind, and just the right amount of sweet. The peanut butter cup was pretty sweet but still yummy. Not only was the food good, the service was excellent too, with very friendly and helpful staff. When another patron ordered a smoothie and they had a little extra left, they gave it to us as a free sample in miniature cups. The manager even stopped by our table to make sure we were satisfied with the food and service. Just be warned: the delicious smell of baked goods that hits you as you walk in the door will cause you to buy more than you came for.
