I was having something engraved at Personally Yours, and while I was waiting for it to be finished, I thought I’d check out Mrs. Tiggy Winkles, which is right in front of it. Though there were a few parents and children in the store, it was mostly filled with teens and young people in the«adult» section. It was actually quite packed in this area, and everyone was trying really hard to squeeze by each other. I was surprised at how popular this section was. There were a few people just browsing around, but many people walked out with a few items, especially since there were a lot of things on sale. Most of these items were shower curtains, funky mugs, bottle openers, and other small kitchenware. The prices for this kind of stuff are fairly reasonable as it is, but with the sales, there were a lot of really good deals. I found the small area for«Movember» moustache items and grooming pretty funny. I’m not sure if it’s just because of the holidays or because they wanted to get rid of some extra or old inventory. Either way, everyone seemed to be digging the sales.

The Rideau Centre and the downtown area of Ottawa doesn’t have a Toys R Us so if you’re looking for toys for kids or just board games this is probably your safest option(St. Laurent and Merivale are the nearest big box toy stores). Although this store has a lot of stuff and options for kids and you’ll usually find a gift idea, their Bank Street location in the Glebe is much more fun to browse. They have more space in the Glebe and this Rideau Centre store is typically quite busy. If you’re just browsing this store is decent but if you’re looking for a specific toy or gift idea then I’d suggest the Glebe location as your first option. The board games here are a bit pricey but you’ll find some unique ones.
