I’ve become a big fan of the Metro chain over the past year. They’re not as ginormous as Loblaws, but they still have a good selection, and the produce is always fresh and plentiful. As Jeff mentioned, this particular location is always clean and organized, and I’ve always found the staff exceptionally friendly.
It’s not super pricey, but definitely more than a Food Basics or No Frills. I’d say it a little less than Loblaws.
My favourite thing about Metro? They open at 7am! This is particularly helpful when I drop my significant other off at work for 7am, and need to run some errands. However, note the deli and bakery don’t open until 7:30.

Metro is now my go-​to grocery store, as I have completely given up on the neighbourhood grocer. It has been their gluten free bread that has drawn me here — my wife absolutely endorses Udi gluten free bread.
It is definitely a smaller supermarket compared to the monolithic big box supermarkets out there. But the store always seems inviting and pristine. It’s always well stocked, the staff have always proven to be helpful and polite, whether it was the cashiers, merchandisers stocking shelves or deli and bakery staff. I appreciate that they seem to enjoy working here.
Metro has it’s share of sale items that I keep an eye out for, but it you are one of those lowest-​price-​is-​the-​law people, Metro likely isn’t the place for you. At Metro, you may be paying a small premium for the cleanliness, name brand and convenience — but that’s money well spend IMHO.
