Marianne’s Mastectomy & Lingerie Boutique

Marianne’s sells lingerie like other reviewers have mentioned, but they also sell some really neat clothing. They carry lines that are more difficult to find in Ottawa like Spanner, Simpli, Neon Buddha, and Bryn Walker. The clothing aesthetic is similar to that of the store Three Wild Women and to some extent J. Michaels — asymmetric cuts, flowy, draped, over-​sized buttons, etc.
I have to say that I’m a little bit surprised that this store is in the Westgate Shopping Centre, because Westgate to me seems like a little rundown mall, yet the prices at Marianne’s are what you’d expect on Sussex Drive. There are t-​shirts there for close to $ 100 and long-​sleeved shirts nearing $ 200. The regular prices are too spendy for my blood, but they do have sales of 25%-75% off occasionally. I got a Bryn Walker sweater there once for $ 35 (it was 75% off).
They are closed on Sundays and they don’t open very late on other days. Check the hours before you go.

I’ve been to Marianne’s on many occasions, it was the first place I went to that had over the shoulder boulder holders to fit my nunga nungas…
They specialize in neutral tones and «comfort», which is not what you want when you’re 17 and looking for something to fit in your prom dress, but hey, go commando at prom, who cares.
For the more professional ladies with big boobs, this is a great place to go, the staff are generally nice, unless you know what you need, and they don’t have it, and cant be fussed…
There is usually a fairly substantial line for fittings, which is great, unless you’re at the end of the line. They do have a nice selection of bras, if they don’t have what you need, they can try to order it for you… but keep in mind it is generally a 3 digit price tag on bras out of the normal sizing…

So for us «well endowed» women, it can be super hard to find a good bra in Ottawa. Most stores only carry the popular sizing and if they do have bigger bras they’re bulky, old-​lady-​ish and well, frumpy.
Marianne’s is the one place in Ottawa I know I can find my size. I was fitted properly here and finally realized what size I should be wearing — it’s changed my life!
There’s a great selection of lingerie here, and the prices are fair. While it can be a bit of a wait to get into the fitting room, I promise it’s worth it. The Saleswoman I dealt with was great — she brought me lots of lovely bras and made sure we tried a bunch of different styles and sizes to find the perfect fit.
If you have larger ladies, have had a mastectomy or just want to be fitted Marianne’s is your place to go.
