Loblaws pharmacies have a service called«Refill ready», it is supposed to enable the pharmacists to prefill your repeatable prescriptions before you should run out. Problem? For over a year now I have received email messages for filled prescriptions, which I refilled myself a couple of weeks earlier, and when I talk to my pharmacists I am told that it’s a system failure. Get your shit together Loblaws. «Refill ready» is not working and you are harassing people who are so sick that they need refills on their meds.

I used to go the Merivale Loblaws but have been frequenting this one more recently. I find that product is often OOS and prices are higher than other stores. Product quality is good, and I like that it’s a one stop shop.

I am not a fan of negative reviews, but the food department at Loblaws has gone from bad to terrible. We liked their potato wedges and would usually buy them on a way home. Today I got a large box of wedges and 16 wings. 20 minutes later I got home to start the dinner. Wings went to the garbage bin immediately. I am in a complete shock that food quality at lawblass has become worse than McDonald’s. Wings tasted awful, looked even worse. Potato wedges were burnt and over-fried. Wings tasted like a foam infused with oil and fat. I’m not sure what happened to Lawblass. They used to offer good quality food there. Disappointed.

This is the most poorly-stocked grocery store I have ever seen. Every time I go, something I want to buy is «on sale» but out of stock. The last time I was there, I counted more than 30 items out of stock, and I’m sure there was more I didn’t catch. Staff is also not very proactive about removing rotten produce from shelves. Sometimes I have difficulty finding produce packages that don’t have at least one rotten/moldy item in them(eg. peaches, clementines and mandarin oranges). The store is crowded, and items are so spread out that it takes you at least an hour to do a normal grocery shop, two if it’s really busy. The lines can be so bad it’s a struggle to pass behind them. It does have a wide variety of vegetarian items, but again, when and if they’re in stock. Go to the Merivale Metro instead. It has lots of friendly staff, takes half the time to go through and I can count on one hand the number of times and item I wanted was not in stock.

I have to echo much of what Ashley G has said — unfortunately not much has changed in the way of customer service here, an due to its proximity to the college, I don’t think it will. That being said, there are a handful of staff here that are quite good, and the customer service staff are pretty knowledgable. I tend to do a lot of my grocery shopping here, but mostly when I have a plethora of patience and need more than just food. It’s absolutely insane to go here on the weekend, especially during the afternoon. Over the last year this store has changed to a 24 hour location which is awesome. I love shopping here at 9 or 10 at night on a weekday — it’s so quiet! They also have zero tax days every few months which are great. This store was remodeled a few years ago to extend the Joe Fresh section(it might be the biggest in the city!) and it just generally feels bigger overall. There’s a really big pharmacy/cosmetics area and a pretty great natural health section with tons of gluten-free and dairy-free products. There’s also about 3 aisles of kosher food and a pretty large home section. As with most Loblaws, I find the prices here are quite high, and I have been here on a few Sundays where they have very little produce(no bananas, no green pepper, no sweet potatoes — AH!). So if you’re on a budget, don’t shop here. However, if you like one-stop shopping where you can get a prescription filled, buy bed sheets and a new pair of shoes, stop by.

Normal prices, pretty clean(except their washrooms), line ups are usually very long. I miss grocery store cashiers bagging the groceries properly. It seems like every place they are told to shove as much as possible in those flimsy thin bags. I stopped bringing our reusable bags because they don’t bag your groceries for you if you do. That’s why I go to places like Loblaws instead of No Frills. They put frozen stuff in with things like bread, so it gets squished and soggy. The handles end up ripping by the time I get it up to my 6th floor apartment. I go to stores like this so I don’t have to bother with bagging my own groceries. I really don’t mind paying the extra 5 cents per bag in order to have it done properly.

I love this Loblwas for the size and location. Its a Loblaws Superstore, that offers grocery’s, clothing, household goods, pharmacy, as well as a gym. Although the size and location is great, this store has its good and bad days. There will be days where they are fully stocked and the produce looks great, then other days when they are sold out of many item, and I end up running to other stores throughout the week to pick up items that Loblwas was sold out of. The great thing about this store is the variety of different foods that they carry. They have a large kosher aisle, as well as an organic aisle which is usually fully stocked. The one let down is the customer service. The staff consists of college students, and I can understand that they may be tired after class. Been there, done that, I totally get how stressful it can get, but no need to break hangers and act stubborn when a customer changes their mind on an item. You can usually find the cashiers shouting back to one another at their cashes, asking other coworkers what time they are working until, and then sighing. Big turn off on the customers end!!!
