I stumbled into Kitchenalia for the first time in about 4 years this weekend and was pleasantly surprised that it’s still contributing to the awesomeness that is Westboro. This relatively small shop is stocked with funky, clever kitchen items ranging from grill and onion goggles to dips, sauces and vintage appliances. There was this amazing vintage white stove on display that I would have loved to snap up — if I had any room in my apartment that is. I really enjoyed the range of products they carry including their massive collection of bbq sauces and spices. They literally have every kitchen utensil I could think of and plenty I never knew existed. If you’re on the hunt for a special gift for a friend or family member this is a great place to check out. Although the store is a little claustrophobic it’s well worth the trip. The owner and staff are delightful and happy to offer suggestions and quick wit.

As a cook, I obviously love to browse stores that specialize in kitchen items! This store is in a great location in Westboro for shopping. Kitchenalia is exactly what it’s name implies. I agree with the first review that the antique kitchen items are a major highlight! The store is small in size, but packed with merchandice. I couldn’t believe how much they had fit into such a small space. As well as cooking tools and accesories, there is a wide variety of gourmet items, such as sauces and mixes. This is also a good place to get dishes and there is a large selection of wine glasses. A selection of high-quality professional knives is also available. The staff in this store are very helpful and knowledgeable about the products.

Kitchenalia, located in the Westboro Village district of Ottawa offers a large assortment of kitchen implements, but the highlight to this establishment are the antique kitchen gadgets that are on display and available for purchase. Old wooden crates with the original labels and other kitchen tools and furniture with a description tag of its origins and purpose of use, makes a visit to Kitchenalia educational as well. Kitchanalia carries Bormioli brand storage containers for food. What’s the big deal about Bormioli? They are made of glass, so not only are they friendly to the environment, other than the plastic lid, but you can reheat in them in a microwave oven without the worry of leaching harmful chemicals from a plastic container.
