Solid pub style breakfast steaks and eggs and coffee. Lunch and dinner is a sports lounge. Service excellent and owner is on site and friendly.

Walked in knowing nothing about this place. First impressions were not great. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a week, with crushed food and chunks of ice-melter spread throughout the restaurant.(How hard would it be to get a little carpet roller and whisk up this stuff a couple of times a day?) Restaurant staff overall seemed disengaged, though out waitress did make some effort to be friendly. We ordered the Combo platter. The food was average — nothing stood out. Pub food — battered and fried. Their beer selection was abysmal.(Their feature beer is Budweiser — it’s a very American style chain, though in looking them up, they appear to be Canadian owned.) We drank water. One good thing: They had an open mike session going on, which was kind of fun. They do have specials on, which may be useful to check into. Would I recommend: Not really. Would I return: Doubt it.

I went here recently for a weekend brunch with my husband. The food was excellent for a pub in Stittsville. I had the pulled pork sandwich($ 12.49) and my husband had the Hearty Breakfast #1($ 12.99) which was 3 eggs any style, ham, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausages, 3 slices of toasts and home fries. The pulled pork sandwich is served on a panini bun(but it’s not pressed like a panini) and they cut it in half at an extreme diagonal so each piece looks like a teardrop. It was kind of neat! The sandwich was overflowing with meat. Pulled pork actually drop onto my plate when I bit into the sandwich. The cheese melted into the pulled pork, so it was cheesy porky goodness, lol. The sandwich comes with a side, but I asked for half fries and half garden salad. They did this for me no problem and didn’t even charge me extra :) I think all places should offer a half-and-half option. That way you can be sort of virtuous(salad) but still indulge a bit(fries). The salad was very small, only a few mouthfuls and I didn’t get many fries, but I was ok with that, since that’s what happens when you get half-and-half. The fries were battered and seasoned and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were excellent. The salad had mixed greens, cucumber, tomato and shredded carrots. I had a balsamic vinaigrette on the side which was good. Veggies were fresh. My husband’s meal was quite large. He order his eggs over-hard and they arrived exactly as ordered. Everything looked good. The only thing I sampled was the home fries, which were excellent. They are slightly seasoned(different seasoning than my french fries) and not battered. I liked that the cubes were small so they were crispy. I don’t like large home fries that are soft and starchy tasting. Décor is typical pub décor. Service was competent and courteous. They didn’t re-fill my water though, but I didn’t ask. I like places that re-fill automatically, or at least ask if you want a re-fill if they see you are running low. Washrooms are clean. I should mention that people on salt-restricted diets should not order the pulled pork sandwich because while it didn’t taste overly salty while I was eating it, I was thirsty all day long and couldn’t drink enough water! Lots of free parking in the strip mall. If I lived in this area, I would come here often. Prices are reasonable and food tastes good.
