Been here 6 or 7 times. This is a great place for a cut or shave for you bearded guys. The barbers working here are jokers and are all very skilled and detail oriented. I have very short hair to begin with, but they still spend 30 to 40 min on my head each visit. The downside is that you may be in for a long wait if the queue is long, which it usually is. Fortunately the place has cool décor and eclectic music to keep you occupied while you wait. A cut will set you back $ 30 + tax and tip, more expensive than your average barber, but worth it for the level of service rendered

Top notch service from these professionals. They have lots of knowledge and genuinely want you looking your best. No more $ 10 hair cuts for me; this place is well worth the investment. While you’re there, try some of the grooming products they have curated. The beard oil and aftershave are amazing. I highly recommend treating yourself to a hot shave.

If you are a guy and you haven’t been here yet, than you need to saddle up and go. A true gentlemens gentlemen gets their hair done here. Everyone is very professional, they carry seriously decent products for mens grooming and everyone is nicer than nice.

Was in town for a business trip and needed a haircut one morning. The place was very cool, all the guy had chill vibes and it was a good experience. Was a good haircut for 30 $, much cheaper than the place I go to in Washington. If I was in town and needed a cut, I would return!

Disclaimer: Didn’t get any services. My boyfriend needed a hair cut. This place looked super cool so we walked in. Put his name down for a cut as they were super busy. The guys at the counter were the rudest dudes I’ve ever encountered. Acted as if we were putting them out entering the premises. My bf sat down to wait but I left because I didn’t want to be around them. Texted my extremely friendly and laid back boyfriend and he decided to get up to leave because he couldn’t belive how rude the staff had been. Maybe they have great services. No idea since we didn’t stick around to find out. I couldn’t believe anyone could have such a bad attitude running a small business in the service industry. A cool atmosphere will only get you so far.

Was visiting a friend in Ottawa and he insisted we hit up his new favourite barber shop. They do all the things a modern barbershop that wants to appeal to young guys does: a bit old school, super friendly and easy going. Offered a beer, chilled and watched some Simpsons. What I didn’t like, though, was the lax attitude didn’t really apply to my hair cut. My guy was distracted throughout the cut, *scalping* me three(yes — THREE) times. We shook it off and kept going. I was praying he’d hand the clippers over to the guy running the cash. The rest of the haircut was fine, but I would’ve preferred he took it real serious, and didn’t try to make me laugh so much. Price was about what you’d expect. Pricey but won’t bankrupt you. Still, give me that professionalism for a $ 40 trim, yeah? *scalping — misuse; when they’re using clippers to clean an area up and push too hard, get part of your ear, and the hum of clippers flares up.

I’ve walked by this place a thousand times by now but finally stopped in when my barber went MIA. — Cool staff, check — Throwback vibe, check — Watched a Snoop Lion documentary while waiting, check — Excellent haircut, check — An English bulldog in a plaid bowtie, HELLYES, I mean check Note, the bulldog belonged to a customer but it was just hanging out while the owner was getting a trim. It’s awesome they let animals in. I’d definitely come back. Just a note that the cuts are in the $ 30 range and I believe it’s mostly a walk in place.

The guys here were nice and got me in quickly with a beverage which is a nice extra I’ve had nowhere else in Ottawa, and I’ve tried many a barbershop in this area. Also my barber charged me less because I asked for a trim and not a full cut, also nice of them to be flexible with the price. The old school vibe was a bit over the top but it’s an experience. What was disappointing about this place was the fact that despite it being old worldly the chair didn’t need to be more than half a century old. It was awkward to sit in because it was obviously manufactured way, way to long ago. My main problem with this place though was that the clippers my barber used must have had burs or not been cleaned properly, they left a huge red line across my neck. I mentioned it but they didn’t seem to care. If you want the experience of the old school barbershop I would recommend going to Imperial in the Glebe, they shave your neck, bring you a warm towel, plus it’s cheaper.

Since moving to Ottawa some years ago(sigh, seems like several lifetimes ago), I’ve been searching in vain for a decent place to get my hair cut. I went to Lucas Nault a few times but didn’t quite dig the results. I tried a few more places and they were either overpriced or blah. Sure, like all trends, this«new male grooming» thing(an odd blend of retro Mad Men traditionalism with some retro rockabilly punk style & attitude) arrived in Ottawa several years late(I remember reading a NY Times article about such style of places back when). In any event, I’ve gone twice and all I can say is that they are true professionals who take their time and do a great job. Nice guys too. Their«Walken» only policy can make it tricky. The first time I tried to get a cut there, I had to come back on two different occasions even when I had called only 15 minutes earlier. But now it’s the only place I’ll go.
