Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa Airport

Stayed at the other HI near the airport last month and decided to give this one a try.
The check in was smooth and quick. The room was good, beds were comfortable, pillows just perfect. The TV was fair size and had ample selection.
The biggest disappointment was the heating unit. Set it up before we went to sleep as when we checked in the room was comfortable. We left and came back at 11pm and needed a bit of heat. Set it up and went to sleep. But as night went by the unit became noisy — the surrounding was quieter but the noise at night was a bit too much. Could not sleep, not just me but all of us.
The breakfast was disappointing as well. The coffee too weak, the pancakes were CHEWY, the eggs, one of the worst ones I have ever had. The bread and English muffins were ok.
I thought by taking this location, we may have lots more restaurants within walking distance but not so.

One star less because I don’t know why all of a sudden they are making you «log in» to the wi-​fi network every three hours. It is really annoying to be doing it when you are focus in working and sending emails and you get surprise when the ‘log in page” shows up. Come on !!! ;(

An excellent HIE, clean and friendly. Breakfast was great too.
Two things to note, the Internet connection is great but it logs you off if you leave the hotel you need to re submit every time you come back. This is a pain.
The heating/​cooling system is a bit annoying, it is the type that you cannot keep the fan on continuously if you want cool air, it comes on and off all night. This is a personal peeve of mine, I want the fan on and cool air for sleeping.
Really great place all in all.

After arriving into Ottawa, Canada late in the evening, it was nice to find a good hotel so close by the airport. The room is very clean. There is a small microwave, refridgerator, flat screen TV and a complimentary wi-​fi connection throughout the hotel.
So far the internet speed/​connection is very good. The front desk person was also very helpful and friendly. In the morning, they provided a free hot and cold continental breakfast that included scrambled eggs, ham, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, apples, bananas, cereal, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. I’m sure I missed some things, but this is not too bad for a continental breakfast provided by your hotel.
I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely nice, ridiculously helpful. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to take a personal interest in our situation (our bag was lost).
We had a beautiful room. The hot breakfast (including bacon, eggs, and sausage) was pretty decent.
The hotel has a shuttle that can take you to local places, as well as the airport, saving a bit of time and money compared to taxis/​buses. The hotel is also in a pretty good location (near shops and restaurants), although I admittedly don’t know Ottawa very well.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we will definitely stay there again next time we visit Ottawa.
