Great Hobbies

I ordered a helicopter and 12v charger adapter from their web site on Monday. It was delivered on Tuesday. Super impressed with the delivery speed.
The battery that came with the helicopter wouldn’t charge. The charger indicated an «error». I hate having problems with electronics right after buying them.
I called GreatHobbies.com’s customer service number and they said I could take the battery and charger to the store and they would assist me. (They have multiple stores in Canada)
I stopped there after work. It’s a pretty small store, but it’s packed to the ceiling.
I walked to the back of the store and spoke with one of the employees. No problem, he said, we’ll check the battery first. While I did bring my proof of purchase, he never asked for it. He hooked up my battery to one of their high-​end chargers and determined that two of the three cells were weak. Apparently this can happen when they sit in the box for a while. We chatted about what he was doing, and other chargers, he worked his magic and actually fixed the battery.
He hooked it up to my charger to show that it was now working. We chatted for a few more minutes, and then he packed it all into my bag and I was on my way home.
This was my first time at this store, and first time dealing with the company. They did not disappoint.

Great Hobbies is my local hobby store. Ever since I became addicted to radio controlled flight over a year ago, Great Hobbies has been a regular stop for me. The staff are friendly, helpful and usually know their stuff. Although they are a (small) chain of four stores across Canada, they still have a small business feel. Good job!
