Gabriel Pizza

In town for a business trip along with family. Found this restaurant on Z, thinking it is a mom and pop restaurant. The outside looked shabby but inside was quite good.
We had a platter of appetizer without chicken wings or strips and instead they threw in extra stuff. The fried cheese ravioli was amazing, the sweet potato fries were yum, the onion rings among the best we have had, fried zucchini were good and fried pickle were OK. Huge platter good for at least 4. Were were three, so we could not finish.
We had a Mediterranean Agnolotti. The stuffed agnolotti pasta with a blend of spinach, Crimini mushrooms, red bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic and shallots combined with Mozzarella, Romano and Ricotta cheeses in a garlic rose sauce was the best pasta dish we have had in a long time.
The mini pizza and pasta combo meal was good. The Fettuccine Alfredo had the correct amount creaminess and richness. The whole wheat personal pizza was very nice. The crust perfect, not greasy unlike Pizza Hut. Nice cheese and tomato sauce. The toppings just correct.
The Greek salad was plain. The feta cheese was shaved rather chunks. Perhaps we ordered with the dressing on the side, it did not do the trick.
Had to take some food to go as it was so much.
Our choice of Italian restaurant was Olive Garden in US. But this restaurant dethrones Olive Garden!
Although not in Toronto, but can’t wait form them to open a location in GTA.
The service was good — prompt and accommodating.
Would come back again at this location any time.

This has been our go to pizza joint ever since we moved around the area. They do serve up a good pizza, and they are not stingy on the cheese and toppings. I tried the thin crust as well as the regular crust and there was not much of a difference, although the thin crust was crispier.
I would have given this location 4 stars, but on our last order I found a hair on slice of pizza (what else is new, I always seem to be the lucky one finding hair on my food). Sigh.
They also offer sit down service where you can enjoy breakfast, brunch and dinner.
