I can’t really begin to tell you what a wonderful place this is. I wasn’t sure what sort of fare was served here with the name«piggys» in it, especially since I don’t eat pork. However, I was told by the server that the name of this restaurant came about because the owner was once told that she’d only own a restaurant«when pigs fly.» That level of vindication alone should draw one to this location, but instead I will let you all know– this place has hand-made fresh pasta made every. single. day. And that is why you should go here. And that is what you should eat here. And you should most definitely have their crème brûlée afterwards. I myself had the pesto fettucini and one of my friends had the hand-made gnocci(which was of a sweet potato variety at the time) in a rose sauce. Both were incredibly good. Again: have the crème brûlée. Perfect textures and marrying of flavors. Décor is great, service is attentive, bathrooms are good. There’s nothing else I can say, except«go here!»

Kate and I were here last night for a belated celebration of her birthday. Excellent! I don’t know if it is possible but, each visit is better — really attentive service, comfortable ambiance, incredible food(thanks Chef) and just a warm«vibe». We shared the antipasto, Kathryn had the spaghetti Bolognese and I had the Duck(one of the evening specials), bottle of Chianti and we shared a flourless chocolate cake and great coffee! What more to say? We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Food was tasty, but there were a few issues. First, although the«flighty boar» pasta tasted good, there was no mention of Marsalla sauce in the menu. This gave the pasta a very sweet taste which is not what I was in the mood for. When I informed the waiter of this«omission», he seemed very indifferent. Next, the staff in general seemed bothered to be working. I also got the peach and strawberry bread pudding dessert, but it was pretty sorry with only 1 or 2 small pieces of fruit in it. Finally, for those of you paying by debit, the machine is right next to the kitchen and behind the bar so this is not a good spot for it. It wouldn’t take much to put the debit/credit machine in a better spot. With that said, the food was tasty, but be careful of hidden ingredients since the staff will do little to correct the issue. I would give this place another chance.

Small but very nice atmosphere. The staff was very inviting, friendly and attentive I had chicken piccata with a side of pasta with tomato basil sauce. The dish was presented simply but very appealing. The chicken was very well cooked with a wonderfully crispy skin. The piccata sauce was very tasty and well balanced with just the right amount of capers. The pasta was perfectly al dente, tender and flavorful. The sauce was obviously made from scratch and done very well. A very nice basic tomato sauce. The food is straight forward and very well done. If the menu and dishes were a little more adventurous it would receive 5 stars I will definitely be coming back

The restaurant interior is dark and a bit dated. However, the food is fresh and tasty. I really enjoy the Ragu Alla Bolognese… pretty much as traditional as it gets. The portions are plentiful and you’ll find that you have enough from leftovers for another meal at home. Kind and attentive staff.

Just got back from here with a few co-workers, wow what a gem. Everyone raved about how great their meals were. I have the Con Dijon with Black Tiger Shrimp which was absolutely delicious. My meal plus a glass of wine with right at 25 for dinner and this included appetizers. Whenever I am back in Ottawa I would stop here.

We have eaten here about 5 times, and have had take out about 4 times. The cost is slightly more than you would expect but worth it. We have never had a bad experience with the food, always perfectly cooked, and the quality of the meat quite good. The piggies are super cute all over and is such a very good spot for a romantic date. We do find that when it is super busy a few of the staff don’t have the patience to answer basic requests. But this isn’t a five star and you shouldn’t expect that level. We love this place and it’s certainly a place to check out when looking for high quality pasta!

Overpriced for what you get. The food is alright but nothing special. We had a rushed, uptight waiter who seemed annoyed when we asked for the wine list(weird!). Everyone seemed to be running on autopilot. My husband and I both found the food mediocre: the homemade pasta was good but the sauce was borrrrrring. The mussels may have even been a bit off. It was raining out and the place smelled musty, with a slight undertone of urine. Not appetizing. We won’t be back.

It doesn’t look that fancy from outside, but this is a very nice restaurant with great food and service.

My wife and I have been coming here, on and off, for years. The food and service never disappoint and the décor is very attractive. The prices are a little on the high side, but this is an upscale Italian restaurant. My wife surprised me with a 40th birthday party here in a private room I didn’t even know they had. Good times!

This place seems a bit out of the way compared to downtown Ottawa, but really it’s less than a 10 minute drive from downtown. It’s an Italian restaurant that makes their own fresh pasta, actually that’s their specialty — fresh, homemade pasta. From the menu, you pick different sauces and proteins to go with the different types of pastas. A quick word on fresh pasta, although this may seem like I’m stating the obvious, I’m not — fresh pasta is not like dry pasta — it really really isn’t. If you’re used to and enjoy the taste of dry pasta, there’s no guarantee that you’ll enjoy the fresh kind. I disagree with people who immediately think fresh is better, it’s different, but not always better. Also, if they’re slow with service and/or the pasta sits too long in the sauce, it becomes one giant, clumpy mess. That said, I really enjoy the food here, the Italian sausage appetizer is a great way to start the meal. The pasta portions are pretty generous, so if you go with a full portion, chances you won’t have space for the secondi(meat dish).

I went here with my daughter. the food was average and the service was above average. it has a nice atmosphere and is easy to park and find. the food was very pricey. we stopped here because my husband uses the place for business lunches. my daughter and i had a good lunch, but we spent over $ 125 for the two of us. i am glad i tried it, but once is enough.

My wife and I moved into this neighbourhood and everyday we pass this place called Flying Piggy’s. Flying Piggy’s? With a name like that, my wife and I HAD to try this restaurant. We were surprised to learn it was an Italian restaurant. Normally, Italian places don’t have such whimsical names. Anyhow, it is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant and since it is a bistro, the menu is small, but offers delicious foods — a number of fettuccinis such as prosciutto ham or scallop, or a selection of chicken or veal entrees. I had the ravioli(I used to live on Chef Boyardi ravioli!!!) and loved it — although I am always wanting more. I am a bit of a wine nerd, so I was delighted to see a wine list of so many Italian and international wines. Don’t just wait for a special occasion. Go tonight!
