I’ve visited this store several times, and each time I am more disappointed. Although they have a good selection of baby items, the service is terrible. Do your own research before you head in because the sales staff have no knowledge of anything. And if you ask for any help, don’t expect them to do it with a smile. Asking for additional sizes or if they have more items in the back is often met with sighs followed by the dread of actually having to do their job. For the high markup cost and poor customer service, shop elsewhere.

An honest review… Fab has nice baby items. The in-store employees are nice and have been helpful. Why I am only giving them 2 stars is because the on-line system is seriously flawed. I would not recommend for anyone to do a registry with them!!! I received duplicate gifts, did not receive one gift at all(although they immediately fix this matter once I realized there was a missing gift…2 months later), and items were purchased by my friends and they were only notified weeks later that the item was out of stock. They should really take the option to do a registry with them off until they can fix the problem. I highly recommend Snuggle Bugz for gift registries and shopping. They have 2 stores in the GTA but they also have a great on-line ordering system. The service Snuggle Bugz offers is absolutely exceptional and I will only shop there from now on… even though it’s out of my way.

I have to agree with the other reviewers. We registered our baby shower there, as they website is actually decent and had some of the goods we were looking for in the Ottawa area and it’s been nothing but a nightmare. You can’t be a high end baby store without customer service.

I agree with J B., I also wish that I could give this store zero stars. I was so put-off by the lack of service that I tell all of my friends not to buy anything from there when considering things for my baby-shower. I’m not too young to wonder where customer service has gone, am I, or is it that I’m too old and don’t know it? At 32, I don’t consider myself a curmudgeon at all, nor am I very high maintenance, but when I’m in a store, I expect that in the first 10 minutes, someone will greet me, or at least want to help me with my shopping. It’s what I was taught when I worked in retail 10 years ago… oh, my, I am old! If I didn’t want to be «bothered» by staff, I would shop online or go to Wal-mart, but even at Wal-mart, there are greeters at the door! I suppose what irked me the most, other than the two girls at the cash talking about their personal problems without the vaguest sense that there were actual customers in the store, was that when someone did offer to assist me, she did so in a manner that suggested that she couldn’t be bothered to help me. I’d almost prefer not to be asked than be asked in such a manner! But maybe I’m too picky. I should be happy that at least she acknowledged that I was a customer and not part of the decorations. Other than that, their products are way over priced. There are several stores, online and brick-and-mortar, that sell the same products at much more reasonable prices. I know that there are some people who don’t care about customer service, or price and would rather buy from Fab Baby Gear to cross an item off their list than give their business to stores with staff that at least pretend to care about you and your purchases. Or maybe those people don’t know that stores with good customer service still exist! I don’t know about their other locations, but I’ll never set foot into Fab Baby Gear on Wellington again!

DONOTDO A BABYREGISTRYHERE. The computer system is flawed and leads to duplications in gifts(i.e. shows an item hasn’t been purchased online when it has), and the mom-to-be can’t return the gift unless it was purchased within the last 30 days. I bought the gift a couple months in advance of the shower, even though she just got all her gifts and discovered the duplications, she can’t return anything. fab baby gear registries are a scam, and the staff were rude and unapologetic that my friend is ending up with many of the same gifts that you only need one of. They may have nice stuff, but its not worth the headache of registering here.
