I come here so much now. I’m impressed with pretty much everything.

This is a pretty decent dollar store in Nepean. Located off the always crazy Merivale Road, it’s on the very end of the Winners and Sports Mart plaza. They accept debit, thank god, and the store is always clean and well-organized. One thing they do really, really well is holidays. They always have a TON of stuff if it’s Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Easter or Halloween. Not just decorations but crafts, sticker jewelry, socks, cards, figurines and more. It’s wonderful! As a part time nanny, this is a great spot for stuff like craft supplies, and they have a ton of party decorations and supplies. I think the best aisle is absolutely the kitchen/home aisle(as Spike so eloquently put it in her ode to Dollarama). They always have a ton of organizational stuff and it’s good quality. They have a ton of Betty Crocker kitchen utensils which I love! The one thing I find here is they don’t have an awesome selection of scrapbooking stuff. It’s decent, but not as good as some other places. The lines are usually pretty long, which is why I docked them a star. The staff are okay — not overly friendly or helpful or anything outstanding, but they do their jobs.

Dollarama, I hate to love you but I do. Please don’t tell my friends I have been spending so much time with you. They just wouldn’t understand that you’re not like the other«Buck or Twos» or «Dollar Bills». You are bright, well organized and gigantic. You don’t try to be something that you’re not, but you’re so much better than the rest. You have enough service people and you accept my cash or debit card. I knew yesterday that it was time to go public with our relationship after I found a pepper mill on your shelves for $ 2 that I paid $ 10 for at Canadian Tire last week. It wasn’t a similar mill. It was the very same — same manufacturer and everything.(And it was not like I was shopping at CT to impress my friends with designer kitchen gear). Dear Dollarama, you ask for so little, but you give so much. I know I’ll be unfaithful and visit those high-end guys again but I promise, I’ll always return to you(at least until Target comes to Canada)…
