Best Western Plus Ottawa Downtown-Victoria Park

This is definitely a great value for the price. I selected this hotel when confronted with other expensive rates around the city. The location isn’t ideal, and there isn’t much around the hotel, but it’s a manageable walk to the university, restaurants, Parliament, etc. Staff was friendly. My room was clean, and the housekeeping staff did a great job.

Had a work meeting and stay while here in Ottawa. Location is decent within walking distance off Elgin and Bank (2 blocks) and a 20 minute brisk walk from Parliament Hill. Nothing wow amazing for exceeding my expectations for a Best Western. A small interior parking is located onsite but beware if you have a massive pickup truck or big van as it’s tight to navigate.
WIFI was not the fastest I’ve experience but not the slowest either. It has a code so freeloaders can’t mooch off their free offering.
Their bed was decently comfortable and they have their pillow menu if you are a bit picky about what’s under your head when you sleep. They also have a fridge which is decent size in the room so this is very convenient for families.
For Ottawa which can be über-​expensive for downtown hotels this was a so-​so experience. I’d compare it to a Holiday Inn express. If you come here with these expectations you should be fine. If you come with more prepare to be disappointed.
Closest cool tourist attraction is the Canadian museum of Nature (Natural history). Definitely if your game go visit.
Free breakfast didn’t look the most appealing so I decided to skip.

It was a really good hotel and while not in the heart of downtown, it was still conveniently located. Everything is within walking distance, especially during winter when the Rideau canal is frozen over so you can skate to most places.
The breakfast at the hotel is really nice and has a fair amount of selection. The room was really nice and included a nice kitchenette area. The gym was amazing and had new equipment readily available.
Unfortunately there was a fire alarm when we stayed but luckily no fire. Something about steam in the piping or other but the fire man gave the reason very quickly.

Booked a suite (bedroom, living room) and was happy with the space. The staff at the front desk was very helpful with any questions.

I’ll stay there again when I visit Ottawa the next time.

This review was supposed to be number 300 (I was holding onto the spot, just waiting!) but alas! It was not to be so… I added a business and inserted a very short review, and although it took a few days to be entered and «go live», it was THAT review that snagged the covetted spot! Funny sometimes, how that works…

I have to say that this experience was quite wonderful. We were the lucky recipients of a coupon for a one-​night stay at this centrally located hotel, and very much to our surprise and great delight, what we actually got was a suite instead of just «a room»! It was one «sweet suite», with a separate bedroom, a small kitchenette, and two TVs (one in the bedroom and the other in the livingroom). There was a small coffee maker in the kitchen with complementary coffee, and a small fridge. There was also a safe in the room. It was very quiet in here! Impressively so. I expected to hear street noises as the hotel faces Metcalfe. It’s near the Museum of Nature, that wonderful old building that recently went through so much refurbishment. The hotel is an easy walk to many sites around downtown, including the canal, and many restaurants. The hotel in general is very clean.
The staff were all friendly and informative. The clerk who checked us in told us that we could park underground for $ 20, or in a parking garage closeby for around $ 12, but as it was the weekend, we could park on the street for free.
And as stated by a previous reviewer, the continental breakfast provided was indeed generous. And free wifi was included.
Out of curiosity, I asked how much this room would normally be, and was advised it would be $ 149.00. This would have been worth it, in my opinion. I would definitely stay here again.

Great choice to stay in Ottawa without paying exorbitant rates. Central location with underground parking. Clean and comfortable rooms and very good service from all the staff. We had a big group with several rooms and everyone was happy with the hotel. The free breakfast is generous and has lots of choices.

Great value especially for families. Generous continental breakfast, free wifi, easily accessible location, big suites and friendly staff.
I got into Ottawa past midnight and requested late checkout from the front desk. They obliged me, gave my kids a little bag of toys and books each and sent us to our room. Aside from a loud group of partiers interrupting our sleep in the middle of the night, everything was comfortable.
