This shop is the stereotypical, oldschool, barbershop experience most people envision. A bunch of old men, experts in their craft, bantering, having fun, and executing a perfect haircut every time. A visit to the Underground is more than just a haircut, it’s an experience!

A traditional old-​style, homey, hale and hearty barber shop. There are three barbers working simultaneously and friendly banter never ceases. Do you remember that Queens shop where Eddy Murphy gets his haircut as an African prince? This is that kind of place.
I was served by Mila, a lovely Serbian lady who gave me lots of compliments. The equipment is not new nor spotless but it is used skillfully by the staff.
I will go back, and I’m glad places like this one still exist.

I had my first haircut here today. It’s old with older barbers and old equipment, but none of that bothers me.
I came a bit before noon on a Saturday, and 3 chairs were in use with 2 people waiting. I had about a 12 – 15 minute wait. The price isn’t the cheapest around at $ 19, but I’m happy with my haircut.
