This place may not look like much, but Ernie does the best foils I’ve ever had. Out of the way, but the service, price and results are amazing!

The best hair cut and Colour I ever had ! They did make me feel very welcome, Ernie was amazing, was listening what I want to accomplish (if possible) for years. Result was spectacular shiny and healthy colour. Ernie was very knowledgable and very careful with my hair since I was very concern about damaging my fine hair. Love their suggestion too it did help. I had an appointment yesterday with a deal for cut, style, color and conditioning. The owner was quite crude and mouthy. After I got there, they had all this extra charges on it even though they were very vague where they posted their services. When I had called to ask her more details, she refrained to give me about the extra fees, except that they’ll charge taxes on the full price (pre-​discount) plus extra charge for long hair. My hair barely reached the base of my neck and that considered long. Then she was afraid that I might not pay, she instructed the male hair dresser not to do my hair, even though I had paid for the coupon. The other hair dresser ignored her, and did my hair. Then she showed me an article on her I phone about how hair dressers don’t have EI, vacation etc. Well lady it is not the fee, it is tricking people to make them come to your store and slapping them with fees. be honest and tell the extra fees in advance, long hair $ 50 extra and up to the neck $ 20.00 etc. She wanted me to feel sorry for her. No I don’t .I feel sorry for the people who work in your store !! think the hair dresser who took care of me deserves a better place to work.. I gave 3 because the male hair dresser was a nice person, otherwise I would have given one star, the owner was something else.

I have gone to Ruffles 4 times. My haircut and colour were great! However, I really felt that the prices at this salon — given location etc. are priced beyond many other salons. I had a groupon voucher the first time I had gone to this salon and was told that I would be charged extra due to the length of my hair. Then the second time I went I was told my hairdresser that I would be given a 30% discount. Well when I went to pay this was not the case. I was given a card by my hairdresser that indicated a 25% discount for the next visit. Unfortunately, on my last visit the owner did not accept the card I had with just the stylist name and nothing on it. I couldn’t find my card that indicated 25% discount. Since this was not honoured I would never go back there again. Keeping clients happy should be their aim, not trying to charge extra money. I think the stylist would have honoured the discount but the owner seems to be of the mindset of charge more, more, and more!!!

Incredible service, very friendly staff and my hair was done beautifully! I felt really welcomed and I was taken care of from the moment I walked in. If I could give them 10 stars i would in a heartbeat! Strongly recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Antonio is amazing!

A great place! Nice and friendly staff who is always ready to fit you into their schedule and knows what to do with your hair. They are able to make a great suggestion too — I have never tried to do my hair up before but then they suggested it and it suited me beautifully. I have moved to another part of town since then but I go back here for a hairdo even if it means a half an hour drive one way.

Really friendly and skilled staff. Ernie did my colour and cut and really LISTENED to my likes and dislikes and did a great job in his translation. I would return again to have my hair done.

I came to this salon to get my hair done and I received the worst customer service ever! They quoted me a two hour time frame and it took them five hours to complete my hair. I purchased a voucher off of a deal site for $ 30.00. When I got there, they said they had to charge me an extra $ 60.00 to get my hair done. I think that is ridiculous because my hair is not even that long. Then they left me with hair dye stuck in my hair for over 2hours. I’ve been dying my hair for years and know that is not right. I confronted the salon and they told me high quality dye can be left on the hair much longer. I actually know this is not true. The salon did not even put dye on the ends of my hair. Next they moved me to the sink where they splashed water with hair dye into my eye. My eye began to burn and they told me this wasn’t a big deal. They left my hair for over 30 minutes for the dye to Colour the tips of my hair which had not received Colour until this point. Now the dye had been on my hair more than 2.5hours. I was really annoyed because I was going to an event and needed to get my nails done and my hair should have been done at this point. When I told the salon about this, they told me it doesn’t matter how long your hair takes but you will look good when you leave. I told them I still had to get my nails done and do my makeup. They said that doesn’t matter as long as my hair looks good. Then a customer who appeared to be a relative of the stylist started yelling at me telling me it doesn’t matter how long you are in the salon… The point is you will leave looking fabulous. Okay… Well maybe her time isn’t valuable but my time is and I had my afternoon planned accordingly to get everything done. This lady claimed she had been in the salon for 5 hours but she doesn’t care because he hair looks good.
First, the salon should have stopped this relative from yelling at me. Second she has no right to tell me I shouldn’t care about my wasted time. When I was younger I would get a manicure, pedicure, dye, highlights and an up-​do all done in 6 hours. I don’t think I have unreasonable expectations. If you are quoted a certain amount of time they should not double the amount of time. That is unprofessional. While they had hair dye on my head for 2.5hours the stylist was serving other customers. This salon is really unprofessional and I do not recommend them at all. I was terrified my hair would fall out from leaving the product in this long. This is horrible service.
The purpose of a deal site is to provide customers with exceptional service so they will become loyal customers. It seems Ruffles was just looking for a way to make money quickly without caring about the people walking through their front door. This is a shame considering how convenient the location is. I will never go here again! If anyone has a recommendation of a great place to get their hair dyed, styled and cut in the area please let me know. My amazing stylist quit working where I used to go and I’m looking for a new salon. Ruffles is definitely not that place. Time to keep looking!

I bought a voucher for $ 29 on some deal website. I made the appointment they were really friendly and helpful when booking. I got to the salon on my appt day, they seemed super busy. My hair is super damaged from going to China town (cringe, what was I thinking) to have my hair bleached. They fixed me all up! Antonio was really nice and wanted to do everything he could to help me get my hair back. They gave me a deep conditioning treatment which helped a lot, they also toned and dyed my hair (at an extra cost) and also gave me a great trim and now my hair looks great! I say, for $ 29 try it out. its worth it!
