Save On Foods

This used to be a Pricesmart Foods, but now is a Save-​On Foods, both owned by Jimmy Pattison. Friendly staff, always willing to help me out. I come here all the time for the easy parking above and underground! Way better than the other one closer to West Van. Newer and cleaner. Produce is always fresh. Prices can be lower, but i guess they have to pay all those nice workers.

I shop here normally. Clean store friendly staff. Good selection. Reasonable prices. But yesterday was my clincher. I lost my iPhone 5 in the store. Came back 30 minutes later and it wasn’t turned in but I was helped by two lovely women. Karen and Raman. They calmed me down and helped me trace my steps. I went into Walmart across the street. After 20 minutes more of searching my car I hear a voice yelling «ma’am, ma’am», there was Karen holding my phone! A lovely honest man had found it in the store. It must have fallen out of my purse. I would love to thank him or give him. Karen remembered I said I’d parked behind the building and found me. Thank you Karen.

Is it wrong to say that I love how un-​busy they are?
I am sure that it is probably the time of night I venture there, but I love how un-​busy this store is. I had to stop by on a weekend night and grab a tub of ice cream on the way to a friend’s house (never show up empty handed). I was in and out in less than 10 minutes… I would have been out in less time had the workerbee not been in my way restocking the ice cream. He also asked me if I needed help finding a certain flavour… so helpful, but no… I knows what I want and you’re standing in front of it.
They have ample parking, their prices are the same as Save On (I guess because they are owned by the same peeps)… I normally go to the one on Grandview every weekend. It’s a chain grocery store…
