I am Persian living in California who visits Vancouver often and I have been looking for a good Persian Restaurant. There are plenty of them but I find the quality is usually lacking as they have to be in a certain price point. The prices are more expensive than average North Vancouver Restaurant, but I felt the quality of food was much better. Service is lacking as they have good intentions, but don’t really know any better. I would go back to this place.

After three times going to this place, I can say: Decent food, Reasonable price BUT very RUDE and UNFRIENDLY hosts.(It looks like this is in their mind: Come, eat, PAY and go) Period. No customer service at all. For the next times visiting Vancouver, I will think about other choices to go for sure.

I’ve had other Middle Eastern food, but not specifically Persian food and I thought this place was great. The kebabs were good and portions were really big. $ 44 for a large meal for two people.

One of the best Persian restaurants in the lower mainland. The kebabs are truly amazing and a must have when you visit North Vancouver. They offer a truly unique sour kebab which is a delicacy in Northern Iran. I would recommend this restaurant to any friend heading to North Vancouver!

A friend(stupid friend) recommended this place. Food was not good. Service was REALLY bad and slow. Quality of food was very low. It was 5 of us and everyone agreed. So don’t waste your time n money n appetite! It’s funny, they have 2×5-stars rating and both of those people have only reviewed once! Lol so dumb!

The food was okay at Gilaneh. However, their service really lacked in many areas. Our utensils were dirty, our waitress was late and never checked on us even though it wasn’t that busy. Also, the restaurant really needs to get cleaned up. There was dust everywhere. They seem to only clean the tables and not anywhere else. Will not be going back.

Trash in front of the restaurant all over the front door. Tadig appetizer with gheimeh was soggy, koobideh kabob’s were all raw and still uncooked, and service is mediocre. On the good side, the rice was delicious and the house dough was very tasty. Will never go back even if it is the last Persian so called restaurant in business.

So here is an updated. .. I went back last night ready to have some fabulous food, but unfortunately this was not the case. The Koobideh was as good as last week so was the Borani-e Bademjan — no problem there, BUT the Kabab Torsh was horrid to the point that we did not eat more than a piece. Don’t know what happened in the kitchen? I am now concerned with the«consistency» of this place. I will go back again on the chance that they may have just had a bad night. Will fill you in once I go back.

I was in Vancouver in 2013 and every one i knew was talking about this new persian resturand name gillaneh grill house with a new management, so i have decided to try the place and i must say, that place and the food was one of the best experiences i have ever had, the place was so cozy and pleasant, food was excellent, i was there for 5 days and i absolutely tried all their foods and i was speechless, it was by far the best persian food that i have ever tried. prices are very reasonable, staff are friendly and nice, i am going back this year again and i definitely recommend this place to every one, you wont be disappointment.

I love the sour kebob and the environment in this restaurant. But I don’t like the services. Many times it happened that we had very slow service. It means we had to wait around 45 min to one hour to have our food. It is better before you go to this restaurant you ask them the approximate waiting time because sometime there is just one server.

Excellent Experience. Very nice Décor inside and good service. Generous portions and delicious food! The Koobideh Kabab was very good, a bit on the greasy side but still very good. The Sour kabob was huge! and the marinade was great. Mirza ghasemi was a bit different from the traditional mirza ghasemi I’m used to but was a delight.

We checked out this place for some authentic persian food from Northern parts of Iran. It has nice interior decoration, playing persian music in the background. We tried mirzaghasemi, tahdig with stew, and sour kebob. The mirzaghasemi was a little too greasy, tahdig was rice tahdig, not bread tahdig, but it was good. The sour kebob was really good. Overall I recommend this place. I wish they were serving warm bread.

Finally found a 3rd great Perian restaurant outside of Zeitoon and Cazba in North Van. The food was great and there was an engagement party booked upstairs that made the place even more lively. Will definitely be coming back.
