I’ve been going to Avita for some time now and I haven’t been disappointed but today took the biscuit. I had an apt this morning and the therapist called in sick, Julia, the receptionist rescheduled me in with Peter, the owner who came in especially to cover the therapists apts. he was superb. So professional, chatty but comfortable chatty and amazing at massage. Wish I could have him every time I go. Thanks for your advice Peter and I’ll be back next week. The staff and service are super here, don’t hesitate to take a visit.

Rude Telephone Staff. After reading the reviews, and despite the rude front staff discussed in the other reviews, I called at 9:00 am on September 21, 2015, to schedule an appointment and the lady who answered the phone sounded like all she wanted to do was get me off the phone and like I was bothering her. Additionally, instead of suggesting another day or time for an appointment she just hung up the phone. Quite frankly, if I was an owner and knew that my gate keeper did something like that to a potential customer, she’d be gone. It’s hard enough to get a customer to visit/call/think about your business. If you have someone who works at the front who basically repels them, you’re doing something wrong.

I have been seeing Vesta(physiotherapist) and Jenika(massage therapist) for several months now to deal with chronic lower back pain and can’t speak highly enough of either of them. Not only are they both exceptionally good at what they do, but they are incredibly friendly and professional to top it off. They have dramatically reduced my day to day pain and significantly improved my quality of life, for which I can’t thank them enough. :) Avita is open convenient hours, they’re typically running on time and they direct bill my insurance provider. The décor is beautiful and cleanliness is top notch. I have seen a few negative comments on Unilocal about their front end staff… I don’t want to devalue the experiences of others… But I think that might stem more from the fact that a couple of the ladies that work the front seem to be a little on the«blunt» side, which I think can come across as rude at times to some people. I personally have had no issues with their receptionists and think they have been fantastic.

Today was my first visit to this beautiful clinic. My 60 mins apt with Katelyn R was wonderful but I was not at all impressed with the two front desk staff. They were short, somewhat rude even, left my personal intake form on the counter where other patients could see, and forgot to mention to the therapist that it was for a prenatal massage — the extra prep time then unnecessarily cutting into my treatment. When I asked a few misc questions such as apt reminders and coverage check for my daughter i did not get a clear answer… Seemed she just didn’t care and wanted me out of there. My overall objective for making this apt today was to de stress and pamper myself — the staff seem to need the same thing so that they can improve their patient care.

I have been a client of Avita for a couple years now and have had a great experience with them throughout. I recently started having significant shoulder problems and visited with Tanya at the office about it. She recommended Kaitlyn for the job. Prior to seeing Kaitlyn I was in significant discomfort for about 2 months. After 3 sessions with Kaitlyn over 2 weeks my shoulder discomfort was gone. I was sleeping through the night for the first time in over 4 months. Highly recommend the team at Avita.

I have been to Avita Health quite a few times now and found their front office staff to be incredibly friendly and professional. The office itself is amazing and feels relaxing just being there. The services I received were exceptional and despite what some of the past reviews have indicated this is simply one of the best practices on the North shore.

The receptionists need training in customer service and caffeine in their coffee pot(seemed out of it; maybe the music?). Sat for half an hour following check-in for my 4:15 appt before I finally asked if there was a problem with my appt. I was told it wasn’t until 5:45! What? She said she has no idea what time it is when clients check in for their appts. I was also down for email reminders; in this case I did not get one. I scheduled this appointment nearly two weeks ago at 4:15(right after work) I know I would have declined a 5:45 appt if offered two weeks ago(conflict with soccer). Not impressed with the front staff. While waiting for my appt, they forgot someone was on hold … there’s other places to go, and that’s where I will be going, some other place. If the front staff don’t have it together, how do the professionals have a chance to make a living relying on inadequate receptionist experience.

I’ve been a client of Avita for six years now. I first went to them for massage after a long hiatus from any kind of treatment for my chronic neck pain. I’ll be honest, the first Registered Massage Therapist I saw there wasn’t great — thankfully, she’s long since left the clinic. The next time I booked an appointment, I was lucky to get Tanya as my RMT and I’ve stuck with her since. Tanya Bachmann is the epitome of awesome. She’s the co-owner of the clinic — which has recently expanded to include Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Dietician services and Personal Coaching — with her husband, Peter. They’ve created a comfortable, inviting, soothing and caring space in which to get any and all treatments you need to make your body heal and your daily life easier to live. I recently suffered stress fractures in BOTH of my feet and between massage, physiotherapy and chiropractic appointments, all in one place, I’m happy and relieved to say I can finally walk without pain after over a year of suffering each time I took a step. From the cosy waiting area, complete with chilled lemon-water for your hydration needs, to the front desk staff always ensuring your treatment was exactly what you needed, to the competent and caring therapists, Avita is pretty much the definition of a whole-health service provider. I don’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone who even hints at needing some para-medical attention. I’m glad they’re on the North Shore because most of my friends and co-workers who live on the other side of the harbour are too lazy to make the trek! More appointments for me! P. S. A special shout-out must go to Kelly McNabney and Dr. Bryson Chow. They’re the best Physio and Chiropractor a girl could hope for.

An exceptionally disappointing experience. I had scheduled an appointment in advance, but when I came in, I was told that I had no appointment and that there was no therapist that could see me that day. I had even taken time off from work that afternoon for the treatment, but the receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders as if not honouring an appointment was no big deal at all. She also spoke to me in a very condescending manner. Disappointed beyond measure, I requested the owner’s information to inform him or her about the situation, but the receptionist declined to give it to me. Well, Mr./Ms. Owner, I hope you get to read this. A very poorly run clinic. This had not been my first visit, but will certainly be the last one. I have never been treated with more disrespect. I would not recomment this unprofessional clinic at all.
