I would say it is just okay for the price. Could be better but not the worst. I might be biased but I thought the food tasted a bit bland. The name of the restaurant is a bit confusing since New York restaurant made me think that it is American style of food…

Good family style restaurant with your canadian chinese offerings. They do have their chinese selections(see chinese menu in pictures). Food is decent as they are situated right next to another great Chinese food establishment. This place has been in business over 40 years. They offer 10% on cash pickup order over $ 15.00 before tax. Free delivery for cash orders over $ 35.00 before tax.

Mmm… Real Chinese food from the seventies. Gloopy sauces are awesome. Lots of veg*n food. Pretty sure they still use MSG! Can’t wait to return!!!

Not as Bad as other reviews proclaim. This is one of the only place to get Polynesian food in the area. The service was poor and the place is beat up, but the food wasn’t bad. Simple order of Orange Chicken and Egg Rolls. The chicken dish was pretty good and the egg rolls are definitely hand rolled. Is the place nice? No Is the food decent? Yes If the food was bad I would have no issue ripping it during this review, but it really was decent. Thanks

Came here to look at the menu but was displeased with everything unfortunately So my husband and I ordered a long island iced tea to get it over with and at least order something since we weren’t too impressed with the menu What came next was an overly indulgent alcoholic beverage that had no sweetness in the taste — just pure alcohol — not even sure if they added the cola in there to be quite honest and after sipping only a couple laps, the hubs and I decided to make it seem as if we had to go somewhere so we paid for the drinks but didn’t actually finish it. Quite disappointing — I know they are a Chinese/Szechuan restaurant and drinks may not be a strong factor here — but most places would have the basis of ingredients for these kinds of drinks and well, to be fair, most people expect the drinks to be made, as well as the food — properly. Make the menu prices worth eating or drinking here in my opinion! Could have been a lot better with added effort.

Don’t waste your time. First, they had trouble finding my hotel which was only a five minute walk down the road from the restaurant. The lo mein was only half cooked, the rice was dry and tasteless, the chicken balls were mostly batter and the garlic shrimp had no garlic. I would not eat here again.

Sometimes sketchy restaurants have really great food. That is not the case with this restaurant. This place was horrible. The outside is a reflection of the inside: run-down and outdated. The décor was so tacky. Everything was plastic and faded. The food was bland. I don’t have very discerning tastes when it comes to good Asian cuisine, but the food here is the worst Chinese food I’ve had. That bad attitude was reflected in the food. I had sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice. It was terrible. Even the water tastes like it was straight from the bathroom sink. The waitresses were just as bland and uninteresting as the food. They didn’t even try to look happy or inviting. They looked so uncomfortable, as if they’d rather be anywhere but in that restaurant. I’d rather eat an uncooked frozen Tai Pei meal than dine at this place again.

This is a TERRIBLE restaurant in terms of waitress attitude and quality of food. The Chinese food is extremely unauthentic. We ordered«sweet and sour chicken» but we got a ball of flour with hardly any chicken at all. We asked the waitress about the food and she ignored us. I did not enjoy the hostile attitudes of the waitresses at this restaurant. The only good thing about this restaurant was that we only wasted $ 6 for some really bad food.(lunch special)

Whenever I’m in Niagara Falls and I get that craving for chicken fried rice, I come here. Whether its with my fams or friends. As soon as you walk in you can see the sketchiness, but I went in to give it a try. Ordered the chicken fried rice, chicken balls, veggie noodles, that’s usually what we order when I come here. The food is reasonably okay, nothing spectacular. I feel as though they can work harder to make the food more tasty and better. That’s why I say the food is only okay. In Niagara Falls its not So common to find Chinese restaurants as it would be in the city, so you gotta work with what you have but then again I don’t come here too often. Oh and btw Don’t use their washrooms. If you can avoid it, do it! Wayy too small and sketchy. You can walk down lundys lane and go the washroom in the arcade, about 5 mins away. Trust me!

I specifically looked for this place after reading a favorable review on another site. Wow, wish I had read the ones here on Unilocal so I would have avoided it. It was terrible!!! Went in at lunch time. They had a lunch menu advertised outside but when we sat down we were just given the standard menu. We had to ask for the lunch menu and they acted irritated(it is cheaper you understand). Ordered the sweet n sour chicken. I have never seen anything like it. It was a «chicken ball» I suppose. Several big deep fried balls that were mostly like a mushy cornbread with a little chicken mixed in. The fried rice was even awful. The waitresses just stood around at the front talking, probably about us?!? The water even tasted funny. Stay away in my opinion.

OMG, horrible service and bland food. We came in here because my mom saw that there were two other full tables of Chinese people ordering food. Although to give them credit, the other tables did order more authentic food. We were just looking for a quick, easy bite to eat with no leftovers, which meant ordering off of the lunch menu. Service — Had to flag down the waitress to get anything — ordering, getting water, getting our check… there were a total of THREE parties eating. The waitresses were standing around in the other room. The food — Oh gosh, we ordered the lunch special. THREE of our dishes came with the same sauce and a FOURTH was too salty. I hope they find more attentive waitresses and change up the variety of sauces they use. Never again. There was a place across the street and for $ 2 more, we probably would’ve had a more decent meal.

Let me just say beware of this place. For 2 entres, 1 bowl of soup, and chinese tea, our bill came out to 36 plus 6 for tip for an overall total of 42 dollars. We ordered mongolian chicken, which they said they had but wasn’t on the menu. All other entres were priced 10 – 12, but they charged us 15. I definitely think they took advantage that we were tourists and the item wasn’t priced on the menu to give themselves a hefty profit. The waiter also included her own tip on the bill and didn’t mark what the charge was for. I definitely think that they just figure these dumb tourists won’t even look at the bill, and she will score 2 tips because I was figuring out how much to leave her for a tip when I realized that the bill seemed high. Overall the food was good, but I don’t think these are honest people, and I think they will take advantage of you if you don’t watch out!

This was another recommendation. Pretty sure that happycow has no tastebuds after going to this place and the Guru. Maybe if you combined the bland blandyness of the New York Restaurant and the face sucking saltiness of the Guru, you’ll have some edible food. On the upside, the waitress was very nice. And while super salty food is tough to fix, bland food is easily soy and chili sauced. I ordered the soy satay beef. The rice was fluffy and soft, and the spring roll was decent enough. Clean tables, clean bathrooms; and I would much rather eat bland food at a place with good service, than at a place with better food but mediocre service. Would risk going back.

This place sucked unfortunately. Noodles soggy, sauces watery, flavor bland. Nice ppl though. Had to bring my Chinese parents to a Chinese joint because they don’t really prefer much of anything else that’s near by. Was surprised to see a few tables of Indian families, at least I’m glad the Indian folks enjoy Chinese as much as our Jewish friends! Their dishes looked tastier, fried rice, fried fish, etc. Our mistake to order what we thought would be comparable to a restraurant in Chinatown. we shoulda known better.

Decent Chinese food and a good place to escape the chain restaurants of Clifton Hill. Menu lists more touristy offerings in the front and some more authentic Cantonese dishes in the back. Very tasty, non-greasy singapore noodles.
