Anny’s Dairy Bar. I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for in the Lower Mainland. THE best poutine in the area! Good steamies too! Haven’t had anything else on the menu yet, because I always go for a poutine… But maybe one day. If you have been looking for a taste of home(all of you Quebecers reading this), you’ve finally found it. Go try it, you will not be disappointed. My one beef? Not open late enough! Ah well, can’t have it all.

Great poutine, and homemade burgers! Line ups can be long, especially when the nearby high school is let out for lunch or at the end of the day. Calling in your order, and picking it up when it’s ready is a good alternative.

This place is awesome. They understand what their customers want — cheap and delicious ice cream, poutine, and hot dogs. They don’t assume anything — just consistently meet your expectations. And for a hot dog and ice cream for a few bucks, that’s all I want.

Wow! Yet another winner in New Westminster. My partner and I had the whole experience… Montréal Smoked meat sandwich, poutine and a massive maple twist cone… First the sandwich. Totally authentic with perfectly smoked beef on soft rye bread and a slather of mustard… Perfect! Then the poutine, what can we say, a Canadian classic with real cheddar cheese curds not rubbery processed ones you see in most places… and the ice cream cone… AMAZING! The place isn’t cheap but you get great quality and quantity for your money. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

The maple twist lives up to its reputation. Thinking about one now. A bit pricey I have to say. I think the small maple twist was $ 3.75 but it was more than enough to satisfy.

Anny’s is awesome, I love the maple twists and the poutine! They have good prices but the poutines are a bit expensive but I guess you get what you pay for because they are big.

Wow that was some delish food! Split the montreal smoked meat poutine with my boyfriend. That is the first time I’ve ever had my cheese curds squeak! If you know me, I love cheese curds and I’ve tried quite a few types, but I never get the squeak ;) so creamy. Maple twist was amazing too, great balance of a true vanilla soft serve and a rich maple flavor. Also since I’m gf(health reasons) I got mine in a cup not a cone and I think I got more :)

The soft serve is yummy here — not too sweet and very creamy. We had the famous maple twist cone and it was good. I would say it was really good if there was more maple twisted in there. But yes… I’ll be back for more… Prepare to line up in the summer time

Whenever I’m in New West I stop by here for maple twist ice cream in a waffle cone. The ice cream is good and in a waffle cone is a solid 5⁄5. Not a fan of McDonald’s soft serve cones. Would have been fine if the associate told me they didn’t have waffle cones when I asked about cone size and he acted out the size of a waffle cone. If soft serve ice cream quality is the only thing you care for, it is worth trying. Definitely better soft serve than some of the places in Vancouver.

As an old-stock Quebecer who’s been living in New Westmister for many years, I can testify it is perhaps the only place in the Lower Mainland offering the same quality, consistency and experience I had back home. On top of that?

The maple twist is excellent. Rich and creamy. Alone with creamy maple syrup, this make it a very unique tasting twist corn. The street parking is cheap and easy to find. The restaurant is fairly clean. The server is friendly too.

It’s just good. Real authentic Québécois style fries, steamed hot dogs and smoked meat sandwiches. Poutine is one of the best in New West. The large ice cream cone is ridiculously large, order at your own risk. Maple swirl ice cream is unique and well worth the trip on it’s own.

You can’t visit New West without visiting Anny’s! I grew up in the area so it’s been my go-to soft serve ice cream spot for years! If I’m particularly hungry, I usually go for a regular poutine and small maple twist for dessert. It’s not the healthiest meal but it’s an amazing treat! If you’re particularly hungry, try the beef dip! Small dine-in space but I don’t mind getting cozy. The only thing keeping me away from 5 stars is the occasional slow service. If you ever get to meet Anny, have a conversation with her! She’s super nice!

This is now our go-to place for ice cream in our homeland; only a 5 min drive for us, which, considering how good the maple twist cone is, is very dangerous! Last time ’round, my husband decided it was a «Large Twist» kinda night… BEWARE the«Large» size is a towering 8 or so inches high! So awesome, but you just better not attempt to move much when you have it in hand. I tend to go for the small size, which is just enough… For now. We’ll be back for poutine in the near future… Crossing my fingers that it holds up!

Such a cute, deliciously awesome family biz! I love their fries, they’re thick and hand cut! You can also ask for extra crispy if that’s your thing ;) Oh and if you’re getting the poutine, ask for extra cheese curds!!! The gravy isn’t too salty, which is awesome! I heard she imports all her ingredients from Quebec! :D Sadly I didn’t get to try the maple twist, because it had modified milk ingredients in it, which I’m allergic to :(booo. But my mom did, and she absoluely loved it! It’s a winner for suree

After reading all the Unilocal reviews and seeing countless pictures of the Maple Ice Cream and Poutine on Instagram, my husband and I decided to check this place out over the weekend. Unfortunately, we received some terrible service during our visit… Surprisingly when we arrived, we were the only customers in the small restaurant. We ordered a large Poutine to start and thought we’d order the Maple Ice Cream afterwards since there was no wait. We sat and waited and it was about 10 mins into our wait that the next customer came in. My husband and I started to wonder what was taking so long after about the 15 min. mark. We found it odd for a single Poutine order to take so long especially since we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant at the time of ordering. We really started to get mildly annoyed after the 25 min. mark and it was shortly after that, the front counter girl called up the customer behind us to pick up their Poutine order. Immediately realizing they forgot our order, my husband went up to the gal at the front counter. The first thing she says is, «Hi, What can I get for you?»(not realizing that she had already taken our order and we had been sitting in the restaurant as the only customers for close to 30 mins now). Are 2 humans sitting almost directly in front of you that un-recognizable? Did we just blend into the walls? When he mentioned that we had waited close to 30 mins for our poutine, she just responded with«ohh… ohhh… umm… I’m sorry… we’ll make it right away…». Unfortunately, there was nothing they tried to do to satisfy their now dissatisfied customers other than offer«a bit more cheese». Granted the cashier was probably still in high school but we still would have appreciated a better response than«a bit more cheese». Once we finally received our Poutine, we had waited close to 35 minutes and they ended up giving us another customer’s order. Being extremely annoyed by the experience, we could no longer appreciate the food. We felt the gravy was too salty and the extra cheese they added in was just too much(we were allowed to be nit-picky at this stage!) After all this, we were in absolutely no mood to order our Maple Ice Cream(which is originally why we came in the first place). Too disappointed by the experience and feeling like we completely wasted our $ 8, we left and probably won’t be coming back…

Great place for dessert and beach food but in the city. It’s a hole in the wall but that maple syrup twist cone is ALL worth it and the staff is friendly.

The guy I am dating just moved into this hood again after years and he took me here, a reminder of his past days when maple twist cones used to be regular for him. I liked the concept and it was cute to see him enjoy his twist cone. I appreciated the maple syrup embedded against the regular vanilla soft serve, however, it’s not really that much of a BFD. Not something that anyone needs to go out of the way to travel for but nice if you’re in the hood to share. I am not an overly sweet person but this did satisfy a minor sweet tooth.

Just came here for the maple syrup soft ice cream, no doubt it’s a winner. Wished they had an option to add extra maple syrup, guess i’m getting greedy ;) nice how in this nice weather, they have that garage style door opening at the front. It’s not as soft as I had thought, ie. Dairy Queen, but it’s packed more solid yet soft, u do get more bang for your buck. yes, even at $ 4.50 for the medium size lol. easy repeat for the hot dog and poutine next time. paid street parking til 8pm.
