Enjoyed the food — good selection buffet and the Naan was excellent although it took forever to get a second order(arrived as we had finished our meal). We had 4 people paying for buffet which included unlimited Naan and one ordering a la carte … we found it a bit cheap of them to require we order Naan separately for the one person … fair to charge but not necessary — this is a minor thing but did leave us with a sour feeling when we paid the bill(and calculated tip!).

Quality has definitely changed since they took over from havalli. Still not too bad but definitely not my first choice for Indian food. Sorry.

Very good experience, I am vegan and the guy at the front walked me to the food and told me what exactly was vegan and what was vegitarian, and what I should try and said what was very good for me, the naan bread isn’t vegan so they ordered me a different one(which was 5 $ for 1 piece of bread, which I found a bit much) dhruven was one of my servers and was very attentive, a lot of them were helping us, my glass of water was constantly refilled, and they said any meal can be substituted to veganism ! Bottom line they were all very informative. We went for the buffet which I think was a mistake because my boyfriend and I weren’t that hungry so it came to 50 $ for 3 plates all together but that’s ok because it was a good experience. 5 stars and I’ll be ordering there soon.

I’ve been wanting to try their buffet for so long after reading so many great reviews! It was okay. Not as much variety in the curries and the tandoori chicken was cold and slightly burnt. Also, I was surprised that there were no samosas. BUT the naan is so fresh and it comes right to your table!(You can see the guy making it through the window). Love the naan freshness but it tasted TOO sweet. They are also very attentive and accommodating to allergies! My friend has a severe gluten free allergy, and the chef personally came out to show her what was safe to eat! They also gave her gluten free naan that was cooked on a separate stove :) Don’t forget to try their gulab jamun! It was such a great treat to end the meal.

Take-away was a delight. Ordered everything«mild» for a mixed group, worried about blandness — no! Spicing was warm and flavourful without heat. Paneer makhani was rich and creamy, subzi jalfrazie very fresh(noted: ‘they’re not all cooked into mush!’), mushroom masala a great deal for the mushroom addict, a saag aloo surprisingly flavourful. Onion bhaji had the right proportions of onion to bhaji(some seem to be all coating…). Naan was fresh and chewy, rice nicely cooked — no disappointments anywhere. Highly recommended for west end Indian.

I really like the buffet here, good value, good food. I have been a few times now and it is always a hit with me and my friends. A server named Panda is very nice and accommodating. The only question l would have is why a big TV in an Indian restaurant?

Excellent dinner buffet. We were a group of 18 and we were all very pleased with the service, and the food. Delicious! I think our waiter’s name Druven. He was very attentive, hospitable and even brought complementary grilled cream chicken to the table. This venue has a naan bread oven and you can see the chef cooking the bread behind the glass. Everything was delicious, price is good too for all you can eat. We will definitely be back!

What a great little gem in the heart of bells corners! Wonderful good and service– came to our hotel to deliver food as we had forgotten to pick up our papadums. The food is divine. Two thumbs up!

Went for the buffet with my roommates and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The servers brought over delicious house made naan bread to go along with our meals too! Besides the fact that we all over ate and could barely move afterwards. it was a very nice experience. Will return.

My girlfriend and I have been twice and the food has been delicious. The goat was among the spiciest food either of us has ever tried but we both finished the whole plate. The rice pudding actually improved the second time we went, and based on earlier reviews maybe the place is constantly working to improve. The wait staff have been attentive and friendly each time, and the selection is wide enough to satisfy but focused enough to try a bit of everything. This is among the better buffet food I have had in ottawa.

I went for my second time yesterday, staff was very friendly, naan was fantastic, fresh, hot and made to order, the buffet was fresh and very tasty. appears that they have listened to previous reviews, by far the best indian buffet I have yet visited in Ottawa… but yup. décor is still cheezy!

I have been to Haveli ‘s many many times over many many years so I knew what to expect. Or at least I thought I did. Haveli’ s is now the Urban Tandoor and I found the food quality to be shockingly poor. The Aloo Mataar was cold, the butter chicken was dry and the onion bhaji was luke warm, soggy and flavourless. The naan which had previously come to the table hot fresh and fabulous was now at the buffet table, old and tired like at so many other Indian buffets. Perhaps the most disappointing were the samosas. We ordered them off the menu. The first bite s an unpleasant surprise of a cold crumbly, dry, centre where the potatoes had a distinctly previously frozen texture and the pastry tasted of old oil. They were inedible and sent back. Something I cannot ever remembering doing before. The one item that was enjoyed was the goat vindaloo. Under spiced, especially for a vindaloo, but the flavour was pleasant and the meat tender. This experience was such a disappointment I will not be returning anytime soon. There are far too many Indian restaurants out there that are much better to waste my time and money here.

my family and i are usually really hard to please, but this place was really good! their chilli chicken is to die for… small portion, yet bursting in flavour in each bite. lamb was pretty good(the kadai lamb) the medium plus even isn’t that spicy, just saying. A little slow service, although there were a lot of customers, so it was understandable. all in all, pretty good if you are hungry :)

I must admit that I had very high hopes for this restaurant. At the time we went to the restaurant, I was in crutches with a ankle injury, my boyfriend wanted to take me out since I had been stuck at home for several days. We walked into the restaurant around 6:00 p. m and I thought that it looked a bit dated, but with really interesting décor. I knew that this was a buffet restaurant, but I also knew that they had an à la carte menu available. I asked to see the menu and the waiter told us to go see the buffet first, and that if there wasn’t anything that we liked there, then he would he give us the menu. I was definitely taken aback, but we went and took a look at the buffet. The food looked fantastic, I was excited, but was let down as the food was very bland and lacked in general authentic indian flavour. The only exception was the freshly baked naan bread — it was fantastic, fresh and oozing with amazing flavour, we loved it! We decided to try dessert. I came back to my seat and realized that I needed to go home to elevate my leg and ice it. I asked if I could have a take home tray to bring the dessert that was on my plate. I was told that I was not allowed to bring leftovers home. I was shocked, as they were very indifferent and stood by their firm answer of «NO». The customer service at this place was non-existent, and the food was nothing to get excited about. Not only will I never go back, but I would never recommend this place to anyone. I am sure that other real authentic indian restaurants will gladly take your business and treat you like a real customer and show you some decent courtesy.

First impression as we were walking in was ok. As we sat down, we noticed dark food stains on the table cloth and there were crawling insects on the plate near the napkin. Generally, we had the impression that the restaurant was not clean. Dishes were not as flavorful as Indian foods we had elsewhere. Dishes were overly salty. Service was nice, but overall, we did not like it much. Prices are not great. Portions were adequate.

First let me start by saying I love Indian food. I have been to the Byward Market location before and was very pleased but this location was closer to my sisters house so we thought we would give it a try. We got there a bit late. 7:30pm I believe. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. My first complaint would be that we were seated in the far back corner. Why? I’m not sure. Once we were seated I took on the task of deciding what to order. My mom and sister are not familiar with Indian food so they were happy to let me take charge. We started with Mango Lassi’s, Aloo Tiki Chaat and Onion Bhaji. I love their their Aloo Tiki! It is the best I’ve had. The tamarind sauce is so yummy. The Onion Bhaji was good. Pretty similar to onion rings but in pieces with a wonderful lemony yogurt dip. For our main courses I ordered Murg Makhni(butter chicken), Mughlai Biryani and Kofta Dilbahar. Oh and a side of Naan, Bhatura and Raita. The butter chicken was a bit of a disappointment. The flavor was a bit off and I can’t figure out why. The sauce seemed a bit darker than normal but I’m not sure what it seemed to be missing. The Biryani was delicious but the Kofta Dilbahar was hands down the best dish we had. The potatoes balls has such a great texture but the sauce was simply amazing. I could have licked the bowl. They are supposed to be stuffed with Paneer but I wasn’t sure if it actually was. It might have been incorporated into the potato mixture. The only complaint I have is about our table and the service was a bit slow. Except for the water guy. He was at our table every 5 mins! lol I can’t wait to go again!
