I got a promo last year of 200 $ for 2 small body parts. Except that doesn’t include other random fees so in total it was 300 $ for full brazilian. Not so bad, however… Star laser is very disorganized: their online scheduling is not well synced with their desk clerk. Things always get mixed up. When you want to cancel, you can only do it by phone. Except they never EVER answer the phone. I’ve never gotten treatments anywhere else but I expected better service. As the first reviewer puts it, I’ve never had the same esthetician again. Not once have they introduced themselves or asked how my treatments were going. It’s never really felt warm & welcoming. Especially for a treatment as intimate as mine, most people would like to feel comfortable and in good hands. But I’m used to it now and it’s a very short procedure. When I arrive for my appointments, I usually don’t have to wait more than 10 mins. You should know that my specific treatment takes only 5 – 7 minutes. However, this time was a bit different. My appointment was at 5:00 but I didn’t get treated until 5:40. When I complained, both the desk clerk(who had loooots of attitude) and the esthetician just smiled and shrugged it off. It was the first time I was treated poorly at Star Laser. Additionally, I had requested my appointment be with the last esthetician I had but nobody actually noted that down. My perception of them had not been tarnished until today and I don’t think I will be purchasing any more treatments after this one. Athina is a very kind lady but she is surrounded by lost people who don’t do their job properly.

Much better experience than my other location! Quick treatment that still covers what you’ve paid for. Only four stars because their scheduling isn’t always the best. Twice my reschedules we’re mishandled but hey saw me anyways, also a little bit of a wait time, 15 – 40 minutes but my chair time is only 15 – 20 so it’s ok!

It’s not luxury, but the job is getting done: Yes, results! When I bought the Groupon for«‘Till Gone» hair removal I based my decision to go with this 300 $ Deal on the many reviews I came across online. «splendid, professional salon. You won’t be disappointed»; «Athina is truly a Star»; «Amazing results, so glad I went with Athina and Star Laser» and my main concern is this: if Athina is so wonderful, professional and detail-oriented as I keep reading about, then why is the rest of the staff seemingly so far behind? I am now on my 4th treatment for full legs, each time with a different technician. None have introduced themselves to me(I have had to ask their name at each occasion) nor have they taken the time to explain what we’ll be doing each session. They sold over 400 vouchers as I understand(and a new round last week) so no doubt it’s monotonous, revolving-door service they’re experiencing hour after hour, but how about a «Hi, I’m so-and-so, how are the treatments going? Are you seeing any results? Today we’ll be on level 9 which is a little higher than last time and let me know how that feels»… or something like that. Instead, it’s sort of lie down here, put on these UV glasses and let’s hope my machine works without jamming: every session I’ve had, the machine ‘jams’ or ‘freezes’ and they’re left resetting it, changing contact pieces, dusting them off or simple trial and error until it kicks back into use. I wouldn’t mind so much if this didn’t prevent them from losing focus and restarting on the exact same spot they left off. I understand that gel isn’t being used on us as other laser machines that need to glide(so they can’t see exactly where the last spot was), but I watch how they work and patches are being missed all the time, especially on as large an area as full-leg when they go too quickly.(I wouldn’t want missed patches!). Either she won’t start high enough, forget to pass everywhere on the inner-thigh(that’s an irritant) or doesn’t go low enough on the ankles. Sorry, one technician did do the best of the four, and she doesn’t work there anymore. This is not detail-oriented care, in my opinion. In response to another review questioning why the«highly praising» reviews aren’t making it on to the main Reviews page, you may want to take a peek at Unilocal’s Filter Review explanation(all of the 5 Star reviews posted on the same two dates, probably from the same IP address?). Too funny at how often the words *Athina* and *Star Laser* are mentioned in all the texts! As for me, I will maybe insist on getting a more senior technician for the next session and see whether all these ‘stellar’, ‘professional’, ‘most-amazing’ praises are true to form, or fabricated. I’ll be happy to post an update if there are noticeable improvements. Thanks for reading!
