Lozeau

After thinking about it for what seems like years, I finally bought my first DSLR here. The person assisting me was very nice, knowledgeable, and did not try to upsell me anything. He even recommended a reasonable alternative to the sdcard I had picked that saved me a few dollars.
I bought the camera during a promotion, making it pretty much the same price as on the internet, with the added benefit that I feel that I have a shop to go to in case I have problems.

Bien que l’unité de longueur officielle du Canada soit le mètre la préposée aux agrandissements m’a comme signifié que je devais faire moi-​même mes conversions vu qu’ils n’utilisent que l’unité de mesure anglaise.
Anglais aussi, le vendeur de matériel d’éclairage, qui, comme tous les Anglais, se permet de tutoyer tous les clients.

Bön choix, bonne qualité des produits maos le service laisse souvent à désirer. Pas tant au niveau des compétences mais surtout de l’attitude.

While their prices are generally higher than other places, the service and selection at Lozeau is excellent. They are very happy to serve you in French or English, and to take some time to demo the newest $ 1000 lens or to explain a $ 10 accessory. A+ for customer service. The rental side is very professional and is an affordable way to try out expensive gear before buying.

Extrêmement déçu par la qualité du service, si on peut appeler cela du service.
Étant venu pour acheter un appareil photo compact, je rencontre un vendeur lui expliquant que je suis intéressé par l’un des modèle disponible sur internet. Ce dernier m’indique que le modèle recherché n’est pas disponible en réalité mais en plus il me propose un modèle de la même marque 200 $ plus chère sans aucune explication. Le vendeur né laisse aucune alternative sur aucuns autres modèles et prodigue aucuns conseils.
J’avais impression que je né faisais pas parti de son type de clientèle ou ce dernier n’avait pas envie de travailler.
Je suis extrêmement déçu par mon expérience chez lozeau.
Je me suis rabattu chez Target où je n’est pas eu les conseils d’un spécialiste mais au moins j’en n’ai eu pour mon argent ….

If I could I would rate this place with 0 stars. I pretty much had a horrible experience. It first started when I called on a Wednesday asking about their closing time, the guy on the phone was really nice and professional and said 9 p.m. which was great as I ended work late that night. I make my way from Verdun, which is not next door, to find out the store was closed. What a bummer! I figured the employee on the phone must of had a long day and thought we were already Thursday. I decided to go back on Thursday night. I was so happy to go get some advices as I heard so many great reviews from this place. I have very basic knowledge of photography but I had managed to make a thorough pre-​purchase research online. I get there requesting to see a camera they had listed online, the employee flat out tells me they don’t have it, they only have the model higher up in the line which was twice the price!!! I politely informed him that my budget was small, I’m not a professional and all I was looking for was a good compact with a wide angle. He went and picked-​up a Nikon compact that had terrible reviews and a defective flash (broke easily) according to many online reviews. I tried to pointed out asking him about the fragility of the equipment. He simply flat-​out said I only have this camera for you, you take it or leave. Well guess what? I left swearing never to come back ever again!
I get it, I’m no connoisseur and I probably would have been a small commission that night; nonetheless, I’m a customer and I deserve a good service. I was hearth lightly going in to get advices and most likely buy my first camera. I was so put off by the store employee that I will never buy anything from them. The employee was a chauvinist which I think is ultimately detrimental to the business. Instead of passing down his knowledge and passion for photography he simply looked down on me. Who knows? If he had acted differently he might have piqued my interest more and created a loyal customer.

L’endroit pour trouver du bon service et les experts en photographie au Québec.

Un des rares magasins spécialisés dans la photographie à Montréal où on peut trouver du matériel professionnel, en plus du matériel amateur. Le personnel est bien informé et le service est correct.
De plus, Lozeau offre des services de laboratoire et de location. Il peut être pratique de louer un objectif spécial pour un weekend, non?

If you’re a professional photographer or a self proclaimed amateur photographer, there is no other place to shop at. They have absolutely everything you can dream of.
Now all this being said, they aren’t necessarily the best deal in town. But it’s a fantastic place to start your search.
Go in, ask your questions, and be on your way. These guys are pros, not booger eaters from Best Buy.

En entrant chez Lozeau on pourrait facilement croire qu’on est entré dans une succursale de Futureshop. Ici, on est plus du tout dans la petite boutique, on est vraiment dans le gros magasin. L’avantage c’est que la place est très grande et offre un très large choix de tout ce qui peut se faire en matière de photographie. Il y a aussi beaucoup, beaucoup de personnel qui a l’air manifestement très bien formé et qui, en tout cas, est très serviable. Du côté des moins, je dirai que le magasin est victime de son succès car il y a beaucoup de monde et aussi que les vendeurs ont l’air d’être payés à la com. Du coup, on a vraiment l’impression d’être chez Futurshop! Après tout dépend de ce que vous cherchez. Si vous préférez une petite boutique à taille plus humaine, je vous conseille Photo Service qui est le gros concurrent de Lozeau. Sinon, Lozeau sera très bien pour vous.

Placed an online order was told next day that company does not accept online order from Ontario due to potential credit card fraud. Instead of working with customers to verify orders. It just refuses any credit card order. What good does online shopping do if you cannot accept credit payment? It could have saved me the hassle had ithe company post a warning in its website. Not everyone from Ontario is a fraudster you know.

THE MECCA of photography in Montréal. Everything else is a gift shop. Even the greeters know about photography here. You can go here as an amateur or as a full fledged pro, they have it ALL. The only thing missing (or that I haven’t seen) is a book section.
